I always felt that Marquez was a better boxer than Morales. The thing is that Morales seems to have more power than Marquez.I can't really decide. So I'll leave it up to a toss-up!

I think JMM takes the fight at 126 but Morales takes it at 130. Morales is wide open to counter-punches (see his loses against Barrera and Rahim for proof of that) and JMM would tag him all day long with the left hook when EM was trying for his straight right. At 130, tho, EM is too big and would war down the smaller fighter.

The Marquez that fought Pacquiao wouldn't beat Morales. The Marquez that fought Terdsak would be very entertaining close fight, with Morales having the edge, Morales boxing skills are over-looked.

I would favor El Terrible on this one on sheer aggression and will. Morales by a close decision.

I would take Morales by UD. I dont think JMM can handle Morales heart, aggression and will. Morales could take JMM's best , I dont think JMM could take Morales best if either had to dig really deep.

              It's a shame these 2 never fought.
              I also take Morales

The new Marquez looks awsome, the john fight opened his eyes and has really picked up his work rate. I think this Marquez is better then the Marquez that fought Pacquiao. I think it would be a war. But if its the Marquez before the John fight then I see Morales taking the fight, but Marquez after the John fight its a close fight favoring Morales.

Marquez could have made great fights with Morales or Barrera. But the Norwood fight set him back awhile. And it wasn't untill the John fight that Marquez decided to pick up his work-rate and a Terdsak tko is the result of his high work-rate.

I'd favor Morales, but its be one hell of a fight.

"New" J.M.Marquez? or you mean Sytles-Makes-Fights?

Chris John was a very slick boxer who simply don't want to engage, relying mostly on his long jabs and out he goes on his bike. Ditto Derrick Gainer who made a Forrest Gump-like performance vs. JMM.

Terdsak Jandaeng was a come-forward, pressure, no movement, monument standing in front of him, not afraid to get hit in order to land his bombs.

It's not the "new" Marquez that fought Jandaeng, pressure fighters not afraid to mix it up will always make JMM look good. Watch the Peden, Licona, Medina and Pacquiao fights.

Slick boxing is the antidote for counterpunching, John and Gainer will always make JMM look ordinary.

                Styles makes fights.

Don't talk of shame dude. The shame goes smacking back into JMM's face. He turned down a $1.4 Mil offer to fight Eric

My thoughts on Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Marco Antonio Barrera match-up, this thread was started 2 years ago, my opinion remains the same...

                    JMMarquez vs. MABarrera

J.M.M.-E.Morales. El Terrible is a good boxer and has underrated boxing skills. But, he simply loves to brawl, when he's hit, he throws boxing out of the window and fights back with vengeance. Marquez the master counterpuncher that he is, I reckon, will benefit in this scenario. JMM will counter EM all night to a close decision win.

Marquez can easliy beat morales barrera and pac...he has skills and power....the rest either have one or the other..pac has power nothing more..barrera had power now has little skill but not close to marquez and morales had skill and little power but like barrera he is too old and should retire...marquez has power and skill and no one out there would be able to compete with him..i just wish pac would fight him but last i heard he will rather retire than face ponce de leon...which makes sense...he doesn't want to end up in a coma...
