The bold should never be in the same sentence.

      I gave it a 3.
Had to cheat the scales and foul his way to a very narrow win.
      Not great at all.

I think this one's hard to rate, hence the wide spread of opinion in the poll.

I gave it a 6. On the one hand, holy crap, a win over Lomachenko, who we now know to be one of the best active fighters in the sport. For a guy like Salido, who's a solid veteran but arguably not a truly elite fighter, to come and grab a win of that calibre would normally qualify for a 9 or a 10, but the way he did it is honestly pretty disgraceful. Not bothering to make weight, low blows out of the ass, headbutts, rotten judges, rotten referee. I normally like to see the underdog win, but not like this. Notice that he never went for a rematch either, he took his dirty win and ran with it. I mean, bending the rules and getting away with it is a part of the sport for better or for worse, and it's a scalp that only keeps getting more impressive the longer Lomachenko continues to dazzle, so I can't feel like I can give it a properly low score, but it's still not really a win I can respect given that he crossed the line so damn far.

That is another tough win to rank historically.

All things considered, I would probably give it a 6. I could easily see it being as low as 5 if you really emphasize on some things.

Negative marks that bring it down are of course the whole making weight issue. Another thing is the obvious low blows and the referee who did not take action to penalize it. I cam overlook missing weight, but I can't overlook intentional fouls on a guy with only one pro fight prior that is doing his best to fight a clean fight. It is one of the reasons I don't find anything masterful in the way Trinidad beat Vargas who to anyone unbiased knows he threw those lowblows intentionally when he was hurt.

It is still amazing to have a win over Lomachenko but similar to Canelo, he has gotten vastly better in the years that followed his loss.

Another thing is that I don't even view that fight as Salidos best win. The dude has some really solid wins outside of Lomachenko.

Pretty much this, though I gave it a 4.

Most competent refs would have either shut Salido’s foul fest down or DQ’d him.

Why not? He was 397-1 as an amateur, yet only 1-0 as a pro.

Fighting 3-5 rounds with big gloves, a head guard and trying to point score is completely different to a 12 round world title fight, where every punch thrown is intended to cause damage.

                  I vote 6.

Missing weight and punching Loma in the balls all night doesn't warrant higher than a 6.

How can one not give him a 10? He was the only man to have ever defeated him as a professional.

                      Solid 7.

People forget it was only Lomas second fight though.
