US has the most titles but I wouldnt call it "domination" exactly. Domination is like what the US is to American football. When 8 of the current p4p top 10 are from somewhere other than the US, it isnt dominance.
Whats crazy with America though, is how lopsided it is skewed towards one single demographic that has success. Black America basically has a similar population to Spain yet carries the entire US on its back in the sport. They massively overperform per capita while the other 85% or so of the population massively underperforms.Comment

Did you have to count 'em all out, man? There's various lists of all the titlists, Wiki, ESPN and so on (I tend to use the Boxlive Ranking list as my go to for the orgs these days just cos they go down to #15 for every body), but I can't find a single continually updated list of titlists or titles by country.
I started doing it the manual way myself, but then I figured I got no doubt at all you did a thorough job, but I was just wondering if you knew of a shortcut?
I gotta ask what prompted the thread though, I'm assuming the latest Brit or Eastern Euro flag wavers been trying to do some trolling or something?Last edited by Citizen Koba; 05-15-2020, 02:45 AM.Comment

Amount of belts is a better metric than world champions.
In your count, a unified champ is treated the same as a random belt holder, but it is more difficult to become a unified champion and that should be more valued.
The UK has two unified champs.
Joshua holds three titles and Josh Taylor two.Comment

The initial work has to be done, but you can put the nationality in the column next to the fighter and then use a =countif-function:Did you have to count 'em all out, man? Whenever country x is in a cell count 1.
The number of title fights are overall managable, you just have to update it after every title fight/weekend.Comment

I was thinking of excatly that, just putting together a little spreadsheet and keeping it updated. My only qualm is that I tend to find the nationalism on here devisive, distacting from real boxing talk and really quite over the top on here. I wouldn't be wanting trigger endless arguments over that bulchit amd just giving ammunition to the trolls every time there's a temporary swing to one nation or another.
Besides we went through this ish not so many months ago and when you actually do a breakdown per capita and per # of professional boxers you find that boxing talent (or at least titles) is fairly equally distributed amongst the boxing nations, making allowances for such things as the younger boxing nations having a top heavy talent skew from their elite amateurs without an underlying base of lower level dudes.Last edited by Citizen Koba; 05-15-2020, 03:56 AM.Comment

Would have been a good thread to read for details but as I was reading the content, all I read are insecurities and just being a flagboy thinkingComment

What are you talking about??? Plenty of Hispanic Americans are on the list.US has the most titles but I wouldnt call it "domination" exactly. Domination is like what the US is to American football. When 8 of the current p4p top 10 are from somewhere other than the US, it isnt dominance.
