You really think Oscar was going to let him fight Floyd first?

Oh the irony of ducking Manny over bogus drug testing to limply face BALCO Shane clearly lost on the lowbrow OP!

Shane Mosley was the third most popular fighter in the world after I think the Mayweather and Marquez fight when he charged the ring and casuals thought he was gonna Duke it out with Floyd in front of max kellerman. When Floyd wouldn't fight Pacquiao, I overheard a random at the gym saying " or why doesn't he fight that other guy?" Meaning Mosley. Who got even more famous during 24/7.

Floyd was lineal when he retired. Cotto/Mosley reestablished lineality. Then it was Cotto - Margo - Mosley - Floyd

Pacquaio incidentally only fought the number 1 welterweight once in his career and that was his loss to Floyd.

baldomir/judah was that like a combo #1 ranking? or is just too embrassing to say baldomir was #1? take pride in it! baldomir was #1! shout it from the rooftops!

in hindsight its easy to say shane was washed and floyd fought an ancient shane however..

i remember watching the shane-margarito fight live. leading into it, it really felt like shane was finally "passing the torch" to tony, who was ruling the roost at welter.. and in shanes prior fight, he let a ricardo mayorga hang around way too long, a mayorga who already had been drilled by oscar, tito, etc..

in that margarito fight tho it really looked like vintage shane. from the get go he was explosive and seemed to have dynamite in his hands. margs was on top of the world after stopping UNDEFEATED cotto.. and shane made margs look like an utter pinata. shane was older when he fights floyd, but held a legitimate portion of the welterweight crown, and rightfully held a spot in the PFP ranks after winning the title again.

i give floyd credit for beating shane. mosley will always be one of my favorite fighters and i acknowledge that

sugar shane was def back on top after beating tony and was a legit champ at WW.. it was def credible for floyd to fight him.

however i think its a bit cheap to tout floyds win as great , when manny fights shane i believe only 1 year later? ... and completely dominates him. i think ur trying to have ur cake and eat it too here. but to each there own mate

anyone if they really try to can cherrypick even the great floyd mayweather resume and claim this and that... both fighters are great period..

i get what hes saying, perhaps when you look at the rankings at the time baldomir and judah were up there...

i cant lie tho, mentioning baldomir is kinda laughable today

manny waited for Mosley to look weak and crappy before facing him

Gets schooled by Floyd and looked bad VS Mora. Only then did manny feel confident in fighting Mosley

mosley looked horrible vs mayorga. one fight vs marg and he's back to prime? thats just silly talk. he was 39 and clinched the entire fight vs marg before the knockout. people forget that

well he was clearly great when floyd fought him and compltely shot when pac fought him a year later. makes sense! even if you go with the well manny only fought him after he looked bad, that still doesnt change the fact that he was bad when floyd fought him, when mayorga fought him, when mora fought him, etc...
