A prime Shane beats him. An old Shane gives you a glimpse of what could have been early on and then fades away (exactly what happened.)
It’s a good win but recognize it for what it is. Every great fighter has one last great fight in him and he used it up against Marg. That wasn’t the real Sugar Shane anymore.

It wouldve been 100 times bigger if they fought at 135...but shane went up to 147 to beat oscar first

Ssm was past Prime had countless losses so it's only a good win. Sure ssm was coming off of a good win. But floyd is still fighting and beating a past Prime fighter who loses a lot.

Floyd wanted this fight years before. Not his fault that Shane waited.

Kind of like Leon Spinks beating Ali or Marciano knocking out Joe Louis so basically nothing special

Mosley was lineal and the number 1 guy to beat.

Floyd fought the number 1 guy at welterweight twice
              - baldomir/judah
              - mosley

Floyd was lineal when he retired. Cotto/Mosley reestablished lineality. Then it was Cotto - Margo - Mosley - Floyd

Pacquaio incidentally only fought the number 1 welterweight once in his career and that was his loss to Floyd.
Cotto - post margarito KO loss
Margarito - post Mosley KO loss
Mosley - was 5 million years old, post Floyd loss

It was an outstanding win for Floyd. I watched the entire second round, not just the two vicious right hands that Mosley landed that round. At one point Floyd threw a punch while Mosley was ten feet away. Clearly Floyd’s brain was in a different place from his body. He was in serious danger of having the referee stop the fight. If I were a judge I would have considered making it a 10-8 round.

Yet somehow Floyd shook it off and dominated the next ten rounds did. How, I do not know.

It was an incredible victory. Especially after recovering in round 2.
