but vitali would be another guy who I think could beat fury .
Lennox Lewis and Ike Ibeabuchi would flatten him.

But I could see Fury outboxing Vitali.

He has good overall technique, a so so chin but it wouldn't matter as much if he could learn to move his head and learn some other evasive moves.

He looked really good and fast last time out, he should come in more around the upper 230s

The only reason Wilder's undefeated is because Fury got robbed blind in their bout. The only remarkable characteristic Wilder has is his freakish power, and he uses it as a crutch. Fury is not a mediocre fighter, but he's inconsistent. For example, he went from an awe-inspiring performance against Wilder, the hardest puncher in the division, to a near loss against Wallin, a nobody.

            I agree.

Wilder has some good attributes, really great power and good athleticism

Fury, good head movement, fairly smart boxing brain

But both of them have glaring holes.

Both also have patchy as hell resumes, very selective and there's good reason for that.

Do you consider him “very mediocre” too?

He has more potential but has performed as such, he shouldn't have been in a life and death battle with a faded champion who was old enough to be his dad.

I mean I know size would be an issue for ali but that guy in his prime overcame alot of GREAT fighters...its hard to pick against him at his best . I would pick lennox to stop fury he bulldozed taller fighters .but I agree fury is tough to pick against anyone so is vit klit . But that's just head to head . Furys legacy isnt finished yet and vitali was hugely lacking in that department , but vitali would be another guy who I think could beat fury . Come to think of it I think the bowe who fought vander the first time would be a very tough out for fury too and I would slightly favour him aswell
                  Fair points. Good post.

I'd still favor Fury over Ali, I think Fury would out jab him from the outside and keep up with him and win a close UD.

I think Fury also beats Lewis, but in a war. If Fury can get up from Wilders flush shots, he should be able to survive getting hit flush from Lewis, but I see Fury frustrating him with his jab and feints and losing the exchanges to ultimately lose a comfy UD, if the refs don't wave it off due to accumulated punishment.

Everyone has a mediocre trait, but both are far from fkn mediocre. You don't win world titles from a legend and/or defend it a dozen times and be mediocre. That's just pure ignorance to say that.
