What's the problem?
Do you have the same energy for Golden Boy 'taking' Canelo from (and being sued by) his previous promotional outfit (Allstar Boxing) ?
You think Mayweather goes on to be the highest grossing boxer of all time 'with or without' Haymon? Based on what?
If Oscar and Canelo screwed All Star Boxing then they were unethical as well, but as I understand it Canelo won that case in court. So it could be that All Star Boxing was just trying to worm their way into some money once Canelo hit it big.
Mayweather's sublime boxing skills were ingrained in him by his dad. Based on what he learned in pro training camps in the 1960's from a 70-year-old throwback trainer named Dale or (Darrell) Williams. That's what made him unbeatable, and the passing of the PPV torch he got from fighting Oscar is what catapulted him into a superstar.
Al Haymon had nothing to do with any of that.Last edited by ShoulderRoll; 02-07-2020, 06:58 PM.

Forget about the Golden Boy. According to PBC Bud Crawford and Manny Pacquiao don't exist just like the unicorns.

As far as Schaefer and Haymon taking any fighters away, DLH wasn’t doing anything, just partying, that’s on him. Schaefer and Haymon were doing all the work. Schaefer, a banker, with the promotion of GBP fighters, and Haymon with maximizing GBP fighters earnings as their advisor.
DLH went to court vs Schaefer and they settled or whatever, but DLH didn’t keep even one Haymon fighter. There was no wrong doing on Haymon’s part. Haymon didn’t put a gun on any fighter’s head. They went with who they felt comfortable would look out for their best interest. They were free agents, they could’ve stayed with GBP/HBO. They went with FOX/PBC. ALL of them. Latinos, Black, White. They all went with Haymon. There’s a reason for that.
But back to Haymon/Mayweather, there is a reason Mayweather never hesitated to praise Haymon after every fight. Haymon was the financial expert behind Floyd’s legal escape from TR and rise to become one of the richest athletes in the world for years.
