Jacobs fought GGG... GGG couldn’t stop Jacobs. Canelo fought Jacobs and Jacobs is 1 foot shorter than Charlo!! Kovalev only been stopped by LHW’s. Charlo beating Centeno or Heiland is like GGG beating Vanes... from a gym perspective for strength I don’t see how Canelo would view Jermall as a threat. WBC is a 70/30 split of 90% of the purse bid, with 10% given to the winner as a bonus. Win or lose, Charlo wouldn't have made 45%. Canelo can also petition for a change of the split and the board of governors will analyze the recent purses of each fighter and vote on a split change. Had Canelo requested 75/25, it would have very likely been granted, possibly even 80/20. He didn't want the fight. Period.

It was a mandatory fight. Offers are irrelevant. They were forced to fight each other unless one of them ducked. Canelo ducked. Charlo was willing to fight.

You’re right actually, in that I’m wrong about the purse split. According to WBC regulations, an interim champion is not a mandatory challenger at all, and that a fight between the WBC and WBC-interim champions is solely at the discretion of the WBC, timings and all (section 3.21)

So what mandatory fight did Canelo duck exactly? No purse bids were called. Charlo simply turned down the offer. Nothing else happened other than the WBC creating a franchise champion (probably to save face), which has subsequently flopped.

In the Canelo-GGG situation, the WBC had actually ordered a mando, which was why Canelo vacated. The WBC had never actually ordered the Canelo-Charlo mando, so there was no reason for Canelo to vacate. Charlo couldnt force a bid, because there was no bid to force. Canelo wasnt ordered to negotiate, wasnt given any deadlines, nothing. He had no reason to vacate......
