The part they all leave out when crying about how young Canelo was...is how old Mayweather was.

It's like folks have amnesia.

The reason why folks wanted that fight so much in the first place is that it was thought that a young phenom who often rehydrated to damn near light heavyweight would be the way to finally defeat an aging Floyd whose greatest talent was slowing down the tempo and output of fights against men his own size.

It was thought that Canelo's youth would be an advantage in that respect.

Now, after he boatraced Saul, everyone wants to act like it was Floyd taking advantage.

Good post. Bringing the fight up with my brother years later I even referred to Canelo being 21. My brother told me that I just remember it that way because a lot of people are always writing about how young/green Nelo was. But reminded that he was actually 23 and older than most people remember. I think it was a great lesson for Nelo to feel how skill beat him despite his size and youth. Canelo has worked on his skill, fundamentals to which it’s given him the confidence to rise in weight. He knows he doesn’t have to be bigger just better.
