Most of the attention is because of the near public execution of her opponent's trainer by her brother.

That's not good attention. That's not doing something right.

I have closely followed boxing for 30+ years. During that time, women's boxing has been largely irrelevant, other than rare instances where one woman is able to become a novelty star. Christy Martin, Laila Ali, Clarissa Shields, etc. Showtime has done a great job with her. Mark Taffat has done a great job with her. She's done her job, both in the ring by dominating, and out of the ring by talking **** and generating controversy. The stars have aligned for her to be a star for years to come.

Lets be honest, the only reason this fight is getting as much scrutiny as its getting is because of what happened to Bashir. Nobody really cared about Shields-Habazin the first time until Bashir got donkey punched and Shields subsequent brash attitude about it.
