Because MLK day is a national holiday in America while cinco de mayo is nothing .

Didn't say anything about them exclusively being Mexican American, however, they're the most engaged Latino boxing fanbase along with representing the overall majority. There's a reason Floyd fought on Mexican holidays including against the non-Mexican Latino opponents you mentioned. Not too much excitement around Argentina's independence day.

Mexicans and Mexican-Americans keep the sport alive in the US. So if true this is a good move.

But it's not like DAZN hasn't tried reaching out to the African-American market. They signed Daniel Jacobs, Demetrius Andrade, Maurice Hooker, Devin Haney, and Tevin Farmer. Also tried to do something with Jarrell Miller but he proved himself to be an undependable person to do business with.

I've criticised Canelo and that bullshit WBC franchise title more than I've criticised PBC recently. Loma gets a pass from me because he wasn't even consulted about it and, so far at least, he hasn't used it to duck a mandatory challenger.

But the fact remains that neither Canelo nor Loma have ever had any huge offers from other promoters to turn down.

That question involves an inversion of reality. The only entity taking power and control away from PBC fighters, and preventing them from taking the money, is PBC itself.

AJ was "begging" to fight Wilder. He also tried to fight Kownacki and Ortiz, then got KTFO by Ruiz and immediately fought him again.

          Andrade tried to fight Charlo.

Tevin Farmer tried to fight Tank and got a counter offer that was less then half what Matchroom offered Tank in response.

Canelo and GGG fought each other and DAZN want them to do it again.

KSI and Logan Paul also fought each other ...

What's the reason the Kentucky Derby is held on Cinco de Mayo weekend?

Maybe Floyd fought on Cinco de Mayo weekend because it's one of the busiest ******** days in Vegas?!?!?

And you have an actual Mexican fighting on the Mexican dates but he's not doing the numbers Floyd did. Floyd's fight with Berto did better than Canelo's last fight and his fight against Jacobs

Don't forget Haney. He could turn out to be the first US boxer to transcend the sport since Floyd.

                You're right.

I went back and edited my post to include Haney.

So all these guys were or are on DAZN:

                Daniel Jacobs
                Demetrius Andrade
                Maurice Hooker
                Devin Haney
                Tevin Farmer
                Jarrell Miller*

They only cater to Mexicans, doe.

No he won't. He'll be a decent attraction if he can get away from Hearn. He needs somebody with a plan for his career. He admitted the other day that there is no plan for his career.

He doesn't have that "it" quality it takes to make him a star. He's not really relatable to the audience he'll need to make him a star and he isn't a guy that's easy to hate. He'll be like a Tim Bradley.

If you’re not criticizing Loma and only criticizing canelo then that is biased. Canelo knew . Loma knew. Shameful.

What they did was worse than turning down a big offer, they cheated guys out of a title fight that earned in the ring. They also prevented them from getting a co since to beat top name.

How does a pbc fighter have control fighting a DAZN fighter on the network owned by the DAZN promoter?

You know why these offers were refused. DAZN isn’t going to be given assistance selling subs.

DAZN is holding the Canelo/ ggg 3 fight for as long as they possible can. Again you keep harping on the charlo offer but that is only to divert from the real issue- Andrade signed with DAZN and cant get a unification fight with either of the best guys in DAZN.

None of you think charlo is the best mw. the real question is why is DAZN blocking its own fighter from getting a shot at the best MW’s?

Yet you want all these guys to sign with DAZN when they can see how DAZN screws it’s own guys.

DAZN even offered Jermall Charlo a career high payday to fight on their network. With a one-time deal or for multiple fights...whichever way Charlo wanted to do it.

That's a losing proposition for DAZN in my opinion, since Charlo doesn't really move the needle. But it's their money.

So you can't say they aren't trying to recruit African-American talent.
