No media tour is a play by the big TV networks.

They're fighting back, together, against DAZN. The statement they're making is that they can do big numbers purely based on their current reach as big TV networks. Arum was about as subtle as a sledgehammer when talking about the time they'll get on college football and Superbowl broadcasts.

Which is fine, except it will cost the fighters. You can't tell me a few dollars on a media tour wouldn't be worthwhile for extra buys.

Wilders side dont want more of that and this time Fury will be able to talk about how he has already tasted Wilders power and how he beat him the last time they fought. Fury dont punch hard but the pressers would be a verbal bloodbath for Deontay.

      2. We are once again hearing about how a Wilder fight is going to do crazy numbers. 2 million PPV sales apparently. We all know already that that isnt going to happen but we are all ready to be bombarded with whimsical tales of Deontay the PPV super star and how Floyd proved Deontay will be massive and just how many homes could buy that fight. So when none of that happens and it does average to decent numbers at best they will point to the mistake of not promoting it properly, in this case no pressers, and that with the addition of pressers in the "rubber match" the popularity will explode and it will be a huge success, about 2 million PPV sales.

Its what these Wilder ***boys do. Tell you what a massive super star Wilder will be in "the next fight" and when the numbers come in and Wilders fight has done ok or bombed "No not this fight, Next fight".

Before the first fight, Fury made Wilder look bad by provoking him into losing his temper and coming out with idiotic racist conspiracy shit. He got inside Wilder's head at the pressers and carried on manipulating him right up to and throughout the fight.

Wilder's team are worried that the same thing would happen second time around. That's the only explanation that makes sense for them not having a media tour and Wilder not showing up for a recent scheduled interview with Fury.

So no joint media tour but they will still do individual interviews? A press conference a week out from the fight? Or Wilder is just in the gym ignoring all media?

Maybe Eddie should stick to his area of expertise - bribes and payoffs to BBBoC and UKAD.

Fury is the biggest personality in the sport. Imagine McGregor not doing any media for one of his UFC fights? Wilder got destroyed last time and clearly wants nothing to do with the Gypsy King. Fury should do his own press conferences with a chicken in Deontay's chair.

It is just bad promoting, a move from traditionalism within boxing 'Is not good at all'. This shows you how little respect fighters/promoters have for the sport at times. People are so quick to discredit promoters, but the conduct and professionalism of some fighters must also be brought into the light 'Tyson Fury & Deontay Wilder should of demanded a press conference because it is tradition' and has always been apart of the theater of boxing.

Tyson Fury has lost the eye of the Tiger anyway, anybody who is honest with themselves? Would also admit to this observation. Tyson Fury is a semi-good actor, but I can see through it 'Fury is pretty much like Rocky Balboa in Rocky III'.

Yea this guy really doesn't understand the U.S. market. Two of the biggest stations in America are going to be running shoulder programming during football season for this show. To understand how powerful that is Wilder vs Ortiz got 300k+ PPV buys because of shoulder programming on Fox. Remember that's a rematch nobody wanted to see. That's a fight a year prior wasn't PPV when Wilder KO'd him. Now you got ESPN & Fox running ads and shoulder programming. Both men will be interviewed at the Superbowl. This fight doesn't need a press tour. The only people who think this fight needs a press tour are idiot boxing fans. The casual fans don't care and wouldn't bother watching a press tour. The people who buy the big fights

I feel we are robbed of Tyson Fury's biggest strength. This guy is media gold. Either he is hilarious, controversial, or a combination of both, but he is pure gold with a microphone in front of him.

As far as getting in Wilder's head. that is trash talk about trash talking, and I do not buy it. Wilder fights at his absolute BEST when pissed. He needs to be emotionally charged. I have no idea why there is no press tour, but I am not about to fall for the idea that Wilder is scared to have it. Fats are facts, and the facts are Wilder was all in on the immediate rematch. I do not see fear in that.

***** the US Market, ***** the whiny american football season over there also.

This is about boxing tradition, and taking into account all the boxing supporters world wide, and THEIR desires. 'Press conferences and media tours have been a traditional aspect of boxing for a very long time, as they are apart of the theater of boxing etc

So you are calling the boxing supporters Idiots? ' You are calling the people who Care about the sport and even the fighters Idiots?' you are insulting them for being righteously angry, that the sport that they watch and study is being diluted 'Catering for the needs of the people who don't care about the sport, or have a rapport with any fighter'.

That behavior to me, is showing all the signs of being a sell-out 'Nothing personal, but this is possibly the worst post I have seen within this section of the forums'.

Yes boxing fans are whiny idiots who don't realize if promoters did what boxing fans wanted the sport would cease to exist. Look at how many idiots on here think it's great for boxing, a niche sport, to be shown on a niche app instead of being shown on broadcast tv. Then they say dumb **** like "I don't care I just want to see the fights" Cool for boxing fans. Horrible for the growth of the sport. Without growth the sport dies. Top Rank putting their best fighters on ESPN plus then they turn around and complain their fighters can't sell tickets. Canelo numbers are dropping. Nobody seems to be able to put 2 & 2 together. Idiot boxing fans
