I would be, cuz Armenia is the least likely to be confused with Russians, because of our darker looks and our cultural differences.

But believe me, Ukrainians, Belarus, Georgia, and a few others are veryy veryy close to being Russians.

but i get ur point, technically, you cannot call any of them Russian.

Part of the former Soviet block YES, but not Russian.

All of this should be called "The Soviet Invasion"

Then of course people would say, whattt, Soviet Union doesnt even exist any more

i was going to point out the same thing about hungary, my grandfather would roll over in his grave if he knew people referred to his family as russians (no offense intended). if someone isnt assuming our family is russian, they are assuming we are german (cause we eat sauerkraut?) and dont really understand any sort of historical or cultural/political perspective. its annoying, thats why i make it a point to be informed and respectful when referring to people and their specific nationality.

in Russia and the former soviet union if you speak russian as your first langauge your listed as "ethnically" russian regardless of skin complexion, geography or anything else. At least that is how it used to be.

The Chechens as an example, just one of many ********** in Russia. The Russians insist that the Chechens are Russian no matter how the Chechens or any minority group feels about it.

exactly, and most of the former Soviet countries did speak Russian as their first language, Armenia excluded, Russian was our 2nd language and it was taught in schools from 2nd grade on.

I understand, but I was trying to prove a point.
The point being they are not russian and the actual countries that they are from a surely offended that they are being played off as Russians to the world boxing community.

I don't know...Sultan Ibramigov is very impressive to me when he is in shape and not overweight. Very fast hands and can hurt you on any given punch (hurt Austin twice in RD1 a couple nights ago). I think he's the future...

from my knowledge, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and maybe more spoke Russian as their primary language during those times, and maybe even till now.

and if the language seems different, its merely a different dialect of Russian.
