from my knowledge, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and maybe more spoke Russian as their primary language during those times, and maybe even till now.

and if the language seems different, its merely a different dialect of Russian.

Belarus, I dont even know how became a country. I guess at one time you had a group of people their who had some sort of National idendity but Belarussian language is basically exctinct. Moldova I dont know. Kazakstan, the majority speak Kazak and that goes for any country ending in stan. Those Stan countries were inherited from the Ottoman Empire, and there's a whole lot of them.
