It doesnt hurt anything, it just gives certain folk a reason to be intrested, Americans have alot of pride even in the most insignifigant things, the heavyweight title isnt nearly what it used to be, but its an AMERICAN tradition that appears to be on the decline. I wont lie, the Idea that he is the last american champion is pretty intresting. So it does draw some intrest from me in that angle. Americans vs Russians is just a fun way to get people to give a damn.

Maskaev could win by UD if he's able to keep Rahman off with his jab.

If Ruiz was able to push him around, I can see Maskaev utilizing his technical skills to beat Hasim.

Either you're with the Russians or you're against them.
Rahman is saying he's against them, so now he will get crushed.

I really don't care where the champion is from. As long as he is exciting to watch. He could be ethipian for all I care.

Only one russian fighter has a title, and he aint much, really.

                  Wladimir Klitschko
                  IBF & IBO Heavyweight Champion

                  Nikolay Valuev
                  WBA Heavyweight Champion

                  Ruslan Chagaev
WBA & WBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight Champion
                  WBO Asia Pacific Heavyweight Champion

                  Alexander Dimitrenko
                  WBO Inter-Continental Heavyweight Champion

Other Russian Heavyweights to Watch For:
                  Vladimir Virchis
                  Serguei Lyakhovich
                  Denis Boytsov
                  Oleg Maskaev

Considering Klitschko is Ukrainian, Lyakhovich is from Belarus and Maskev is Kazakhstani, I dont think the Russians are going to take over any time soon.
