No doubt. I still have two KO mags where they interview BOTH May and Shane when they were at 130-135. May(and arum) were trying to make that fight at 35, but Shane said "NO he has no name" even though both were about the same at that point in popularity. Also even F Roach has said 1st fight in 2010 was they're fault that it did not happen. Everything was agreed to, and then May asked for testing. Pac with more tats then a biker said he was afraid of needles, and when people pointed that out he said it would weaken him FACTS. After that imo both are to blame for waiting until 2015. People just cant get by their bias for May personally, and I agree he makes me cringe listening to him sometimes. That being said only a fool or a hater would not call him an ATG.

I remember Shane Moseley claiming his tooth was hurting when Floyd wanted to fight him way before they actually did fight.
And i remember Manny rejecting random drug tests cause he was supposedly afraid of needles...
So WTF is this clown writer talking about Floyd refusing to fight Shane and Manny when they " meant something "???
I'm not even a Floyd fan but i give props where props is due!
unfortunately "wanting" the fights when they were meaningful doesn't add to a fighter's legacy. the reasons don't really matter, when there's a list of guys who all faced their best opposition in their primes.

I don't really give a flying fucc about Floyd or you in all honesty! Im not a Floyd fan and truth be told i don't even like him anymore than i like you!
But i keep it real and i give him his props.
Fools like you always looking to discredit him saying he ducked so and so but who exactly did he duck???
He beat a prime Hernandez, Corrales, Hatton, Canelo and he also beat a very good Cotto.
Pacquiao and Moseley ducked him when they were all in their prime but fools like you wanna say Floyd waited for Manny to get old to fight him....
Floyd is two years older than Manny so there goes your bullshet argument about fighting an old Manny....
Floyd is a top ten welterweight and the greatest fighter of our generation...
          FACTS!

I am more generous than Monte Cox, I would put him in at 8.

Most Boxing old school guys almost never go with new age fighters beyond the 70's really. Wouldn't read that much into someones opinion ,its a different game now.

Didn't Floyd unify with Carlos Baldomir in 2006?

Monte Cocks is an MMA guy, of course he's going to talk shit about Boxing's biggest star. He just tearing down his competitors while building his own brand.

Best response of the thread. I feel the same about Bert Sugar's BS as well.
