Historian Monte Cox: Floyd no top 10 welter. No ATG.

    Welterweight Ratings:

    1 Ray Robinson
    2 Ray Leonard
    3 Mickey Walker
    4 Thomas Hearns
    5 Joe Walcott
    6 Jose Napoles
    7 Kid Gavilan
    8 Emile Griffith
    9 Ted “Kid” Lewis
    10 Luis Rodriguez

Note: Floyd Mayweather’s career does not give him a top 10 spot. Luis Rodriguez, for example, had a better career than Floyd beating Emile Griffith, Benny Paret, Hurricane Carter, Curtis Cokes, Georgie Benton and Bennie Briscoe. I cannot in all honesty put Mayweather in the top 10 welterweights based on a career of hand picked opponents and having never unified a major title. Floyd avoided fights with Mosley, Margarito and Pacquiao when they meant something. He waited for these opponents to slow down and fade before considering facing them. Mayweather just does not have the competition to be considered a true all time great. I am not convinced that Floyd would beat any of the top 10 all time welterweights.

Fraud avoided prime Pac and a slew of other top welters.

Fraud really earned his name FRAUD. TBE?, yeah he was at cherry picking and avoiding challenges.

His career was a sham and should have at least 4 losses on his record. Plus he sucks cock on the side.

He's definitely not TBE, more like MCE - Most Cautious Ever

I remember Shane Moseley claiming his tooth was hurting when Floyd wanted to fight him way before they actually did fight.
And i remember Manny rejecting random drug tests cause he was supposedly afraid of needles...
So WTF is this clown writer talking about Floyd refusing to fight Shane and Manny when they " meant something "???
I'm not even a Floyd fan but i give props where props is due!

I reckon Cox's' point is that Floyd didn't fight them when it would have meant something.

To me it's the same for Lennox Lewis who happens to have a great record on paper, but the names on his resume doesn't represent the value of those wins when you are not looking at context. Hence why a lot of people, imo, overrates Lewis massively.
