Michael Griffin is one of the best and most respected in the business... He's been there long enough to see that Joshua didn't want anymore of that punishment... Excellent call...

And for the record, Griffin didn't stop the fight... Joshua just quit... That's worse...

I guess, I mean Joshua was no longer in any condition to communicate. If you think that a fighter damaged to that point can still fight, then I suppose it was a premature stoppage.

Yeah, it took a couple of seconds for the ref to find out you wanted to quit.

if the referee let joshua go out there for the remainder of the round he very well could have been decapitated

When a ref asks you that question, you step forward and present your gloves for them to be wiped, and you look the ref in the eyes. Joshua kept his arms on the ropes and after being asked a few times, he whispered "yes"

He quit. Anyone who has ever boxed knows this.
I can only imagine what monsters like Wilder and Fury would do to AJ. Bully him to a corner and start Ting off on him until the ref waves it off...

Like I said Joshua was beaten up and concussed so of course his ‘body language’ wouldn’t be completely on point but he still said he wanted to continue and got himself off the deck 4 times.

For the record I’m not suggesting the ref was wrong to stop the fight, purely talking about whether Joshua quit.
By your logic, Amir Khan did NOT quit when Crawford squared up and intentionally hit him low.

I would question if ever a fighter can come into a situation like this rematch with a high level of confidence. Not saying a fighter cannot win that confidence back, but at the end of the day, your fighting from a very disadvantages position psychologically. i fear for Joshua because regardless of his talent I don't think he should have run into this rematch.

"Sweet Lemon" is when we rationalize something that is really bad and call it good. Joshua is trying to rationalize what happened to keep the narrative in a place where he can be successful. But Ruiz will not back off because Ruiz does not fight that way. Ruiz will come and pressure Joshua. I don't see joshua getting past this point if he keeps trying to rationalize what happened.

Wow!!!! His body language blatantly showed he wanted no more. It was hard to watch, felt sorry for the guy. Not responding and not moving forward created NO commmunication not a miscommunication. That means quit!!! I don't blame the guy. He was completely beaten up emotionallly and his brain was beaten as well. I don't blame Joshua he saved himself from further damage. Just don't BS the fans please.
