              Bro...you would have a point

If he said I will fight anyone from 154-168 (I think it was Abel who said that but doesn't really matter...at whatever weight they want, at whatever venue they want, for whatever money they will offer me, for whatever money they want etc...saying you will fight someone is fine - all those other things and more still need to be negotiated and it always takes 2 to tango

Here's the straight dope. When a ggg/Ward fight was a real possibility (not when Ward was injured, not when Ward was having legal battles with his promoter), team ggg insisted the fight could only happen at 164. they knew Ward would be hard pressed to make 168 and 164 would be out of the question. This way they could front like they wanted the fight without ever actually having to fight Ward. This after accepting 168 for both Froch and Chavez Jr.

After the fight fell through, Ward moved up to it heavy to fight the #1 guy there in the perceived Killer Kovalev and ggg drug the #3 or #4 welter up not one but two weight classes for a fight. So who was looking to fight quality opposition and who wasn't?

In hindsight this was a brilliant move by ggg as he made millions vs Canelo that he wouldn't have made with a Ward loss on his resume.

Why do you people keep perpetuating this GGG ducked Ward nonsense?

The only time Ward was made available was when 3G was already set to fight Lemieux and was looking forward to face the Cotto/Alvarez winner. Where was Ward before that? Campaigning in the light heavyweight fighting bums for his tuneups. Obviously, he can no longer go back to his previous weight which he himself acknowledged.

You people need to get real.
