you guys who deny that G avoided Ward... are silly little wankers LMAO

it is clearly obvious what happened

the guy with a stacked resume, who is known for fighting threats... wanted the fight... and the guy with the empty resume, who is known for avoiding difficult opponents... did not... surprise surprise, no shlt sherlocks

like I said, and like you can tell from those 2 articles... not everyone was sitting there with a finger up their ass, happily looking the other way... while G avoided that fight

      Puh-lease....
Weight class matters despite your apparent instance that it doesn't...

If I recall the original discussion between Wards team and GGG's team was a potential fight at a catchweight of 164. At the time Ward had just completed the super six and GGG was unknown so was trying to generate some hype. It was going to be a split of 50-50 and according to GGG they agreed to this catchweight deal, Ward didnt because he had a shoulder injury and ongoing issues with his management team (which is fair enough).

The problem is that later on down the line Ward put in his offer which was at 168, he also made the offer while he was still having legal issues with his management team and couldnt actually fight, furthermore he made an offer when GGG had already signed to fight somebody (Lemieux I believe) hence why it was rejected straight away.

When Ward finally did come back he didnt fight at 168 again and admitted he could no longer make the weight and be healthy so any potential fight would now need to be at 172 or higher...

I dont think GGG would have beaten Ward because he is simply too big and GGG has never fought at super middle. I'm pretty sure he only fought at a catch weight once (against rolls which was coming back from a bit of a layoff) his next fight is once again scheduled to be at 160. So again its not a duck when he hasn't fought at that weight...

Adonis publicly called out Ward on live television, Ward showed no interest in getting in the ring with Adonis hence why no contract was sent...

High Risk / Low Reward for GGG.

HBO NEVER wanted to put this fight together considering GGG and Canelo was the fight they ultimately wanted to plan which meant A LOT more money than Ward vs GGG would ever be. Also adding, Ward is too big, too skilled AND was the fighter in the weightclass above. Ward clearly wouldn't receive anywhere near the credit beating GGG than the other way around. GGG and team just never cared to take the risk.

GGG and Sanchez said they'd fight any big names 154-168. Andre Ward raised his hand and they sat back down. It was a bad look.

Same thing happened back in like 2014 when they said they couldn't find an opponent that didn't intentionally price himself out. Sergio Mora then offered to fight GGG for some really small number, but they blew him off. Worried Mora would make Golovkin look back and slow the hype train, I guess.

I say this all as a GGG fan. I keep it real.
