PPV? This will flop badly. Fighting AJ's leftovers and charging $70 a pop? LMAO! This will backfire on Wilder when dismal numbers come in and the event is a financial disaster. It will be used against him when it comes time to sit down and negotiate a fight between Fury or AJ down the road.

How come Wilder fans blame Bob Arum for Wilder Breazeale being on PPV? The only people to blame are Haymon and Espinoza. But then i suppose Wilder fans seem to back Haymon and Espinoza no matter what they do or say so even though they are the 2 people to of made the decision its Bobs fault.Comment

What do you expect Al Haymon to do? He has to pay Deontay Wilder or risk losing him to either ESPN or DAZN.PPV? This will flop badly. Fighting AJ's leftovers and charging $70 a pop? LMAO! Trust me, Al Haymon is under an immense amount of pressure from both Sports programming executives at Fox and Showtime; Especially with the President of Showtime Sports Stephen Espinoza to keep Deontay Wilder at Showtime on the PBC roster.
If he loses him to either the DAZN or ESPN it could land him in a some very hot water and trouble. Moreover, it could cost him his platforms with both companies.
In addition, we don't what private ramblings, complaints or grief that Wilder is giving his Team about the huge offers he is receiving from both DAZN and ESPN either.
Or how he feels like he is not being properly compensated or underappreciated unlike the other top tier heavyweights in the World like Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
He is probably asking them for either a long term, multi-$million deal contract or at the very least, asking them to at least match those offers on a fight by fight basis, if they still want his services or he will simply bounce.Comment

Haymon created this situation. He didn't properly manage Wilder's career, so now Wilder will forever be the B-side until he can unify. But he can't unify if he makes unreasonable demands and doesn't recognize his worth. What do you expect Al Haymon to do? He has to pay Deontay Wilder or risk losing him to either ESPN or DAZN.

This is why Fury and AJ would be smart to put Wilder on ice. Let him make a few fights and see just how little he is worth, just how far and away he is from the earning power of Fury and AJ. Humble his ass.Comment

da fuq? why is top rank paying 12 vs breazeale?SOURCES: Deontay Wilder’s planned May 18 heavyweight title defense against Dominic Breazeale is pegged for Showtime PPV. Top Rank offered Wilder $12.5 million, and PBC had to contend with the eight-figure payday, necessitating PPV

Like I said in another thread, Spence/Garcia and Crawford/Khan are PPVs, and Wilder is a bigger name than all those guys. They should be aiming for 200-225k here. I wonder what SHO will guarantee him part of his deal. Surely not all 10M+? Some of it will come out of Haymon's pockets or SHO will take a hit in their budget if it is them guaranteeing his full purse, which I doubt. Either way, if they have 65M in their boxing budget, then they should be fine as the other cards haven't been all that expensive. And they put Pac/Broner on PPV. They can take a hit here.Comment

You are missing the point. As long as Al Haymon is overpaying Deontay Wilder by overinflating his worth, then he wouldn't have a need for either Fury or Tyson. That's all I am saying.Haymon created this situation. He didn't properly manage Wilder's career, so now Wilder will forever be the B-side until he can unify. I was on board saying i kinda like this fight but that is when I thought it was going to air on Showtime or maybe FOX. As a PPV totally changes things. This is a bad decision nobody is buying this. They putting it on PPV because DAZN and ESPN offered him 10M for this fight and only way to save face with Wilder is pay him a bit more guaranteed then the 2.1M purse he was given to fight Ortiz. Maybe bump that up to 5M guaranteed and even if it tanks on PPV you forcing fans to pay the difference so Showtime and PBC aren't on the hook to pay the full 5M.
This is a hard sell to fans when you didn't have to pay PPV for Wilder/Ortiz. Wilder/Fury barely did 300K PPVs. A lot of people thought he lost that fight now you want them to pay for a lesser opponent who won't draw any casuals in? This will be lucky to do 100K buys.Comment
