I would just like to take a moment to say that I am so glad that this forum is working together on something, and continuing with all of these "smiles" threads.

      Thank you.

Once this PPV flops both Joshua and Fury will use those numbers against him in negotiations. For Fury it will be cut and draw they will say with me you did over 300K buys without me you did 100K buys. I'm the A I call the shots. They should just let him get that money on DAZN. Hearn offered him a 2 fight deal with this fight then a guarantee to fight Joshua on WHATEVER network bids the highest. And included a rematch clause. I understand turning down the ESPN deal because Arum is a snake and demanding a multi year contract and like 5 fights and you must fight on ESPN. But if Hearn offered a deal that only requires 1 fight on DAZN and you can shop the Wilder/Joshua fight to FOX PPV and Showtime PPV they should of bit the bullet and make that deal.

That's better then setting Wilder up to fail hard on PPV against Breazale.

This is a bad decision nobody is buying this. They putting it on PPV because DAZN and ESPN offered him 10M for this fight and only way to save face with Wilder is pay him a bit more guaranteed then the 2.1M purse he was given to fight Ortiz. Maybe bump that up to 5M guaranteed and even if it tanks on PPV you forcing fans to pay the difference so Showtime and PBC aren't on the hook to pay the full 5M.

This is a hard sell to fans when you didn't have to pay PPV for Wilder/Ortiz. Wilder/Fury barely did 300K PPVs. A lot of people thought he lost that fight now you want them to pay for a lesser opponent who won't draw any casuals in? This will be lucky to do 100K buys.
That's why Wilder should go to DAZN or if ESPN would put his fights in ESPN+ do it there. If he can get paid the same amount but his fans have to only pay a fraction of the cost to watch him then he should do it. Haymon and Espinoza will be fine without Wilder but the majority of his fans could do without the extra $60.

I wonder what SHO will guarantee him part of his deal. Surely not all 10M+? Some of it will come out of Haymon's pockets or SHO will take a hit in their budget if it is them guaranteeing his full purse, which I doubt. Either way, if they have 65M in their boxing budget, then they should be fine as the other cards haven't been all that expensive. And they put Pac/Broner on PPV. They can take a hit here.
              Is Wilder more known though?

Wilder vs Ortis - 1.1 Mil veiwers (1.8 peak)
Crawford vs Benavidez - 2.2 mil viewers (2.7 peak)
Khan is also well know maybe for the wrong reasons but Canelo was 600,000 PPV buys and managed to get 1 mil veiwers for Algeri fight peak 1.2 mil before that (1.3mil against Garcia as well)

It'll be interesting to see how much the Fury fight has boosted Wilders profile.

This is what I figured. But didn't Arum say the Fury rematch doesn't require any long term signing and the rematch would take place directly after Tysons first ESPN fight ?

You did not just compare ESPN numbers to SHO numbers did you? And Wilder's name and profile has risen big time since the Fury fight.

If you want to use those numbers, then say Wilder peaked at 3M against Duhaupas. Wilder vs Fury did 325k buys. Crawford vs Postol did like 50k or less. Now, Fury>>Postol, but his fight vs Khan isn't going to do good numbers either. Doubt it gets to the 200k mark. Wilder is quite clearly the biggest name out of the bunch.

The forum wanted the Joshua fight you guys didnt. It's all about money with his fan base , now that he's actually making strides you guys come out of the wood works on a Breazeale fight ? Not only that the fact he would have made more with Joshua 12 months ago and you guys cried about low ball offers.
