youvthink corona is going to put up major $ for a ppv thst will likely go 100k buys? Lol. There is no demand. The foreign tv rights will be low too. There are other revenue streams but this will lose a lot of money. Why do you think Wilder wasn’t guaranteed this much for the fury fight that did over 3x as many buys as this will?

to help keep wilder at showtime. Wilder going to DAZN or espn costs them several million dollars.Comment

Nah, PPv doesn’t adversely affect the budget at all. I don’t think you understand how it works.you are wrong. There will be 3 low budget undercard fights created but the guarantee showtime puts up comes out of the budget.
Looks like he’s going to DAZN anyway so that free up some of the budget while causing a major blow to the pbc. Would make it easier for others like Jermall to follow suite.Comment

I remember actually discussing this with you for the Wilder/Fury situation. Or maybe it was for Broner/Pacquiao, and you were saying Haymon will have to pay out of pocket for what the PPV revenue doesn't cover for the purse. I told you that's not necessarily true and a network can guarantee a certain amount that they have to pay. Evan Rutkowski was explaining this on his podcast months ago. And that's how the budget is sometimes affected. You will have cases where the purse is just guaranteed by the promoter/advisor, but other times it isn't like that.
But Espinoza has always been smart enough to not mess his budget up with these guarantees. He takes solid risks and has a good idea of what the PPV will do. So if Wilder/Breazeale is on SHO PPV, and there will be a loss, SHO won't be in too terrible of shape.Comment

he will probably guarantee what he would have paid for wilder Breazeale on regular showtime which likely would be 3-3.5 mil. More than that surely. I'd say SHO guarantees a total of 7-8M for this card, and rest is on Al. I mean SHO has an increased budget from the prior year and haven't had to spent all that much so far. Now, maybe they are saving it for later in the year for fights like Hurd/Charlo, GRJ/LSC, etc but they should be able to guarantee a solid amount if they want to keep Wilder on their network.Comment
