Let's put an end to this Margarito and plaster nonsense.

When has another fighter made a guys ear fall off before? Besides Mike Tyson with his teeth? There isn't any evidence to prove that he used plaster against anyone, let alone Cotto.. But for those saying "he lost his power after that"... When was Margarito ever a huge, one punch KO power puncher? He was a volume punching, pressure fighter who wore his opponents down throughout the course of a fight.Comment

Altered, adultered, ****ed with, take your pick the point is the same. But you concentrate on the part that fits you ideas ignore all the other factors, screw the big picture. Not altered. Adulterated. Let's use the right word. Would you believe the court case addresses much of what you claim too?
You should stop with the insinuations that the evidence was somehow tampered with. There's not an ounce of truth to it. You should also stop with the Richardson "cheater" business. It's a red herring and no one is going to fall for it.Comment

When it all went down and the test results for the pads came back, I heard someone try and argue that Calcium and Sulfur are not in Calcium Sulfate ( its literally in the name lol ) ... so the test results instead of proving that that it was plaster ( which is exactly what the tests showed ) proved it wasn't plaster...Because people are going to believe whatever they want despite the evidence. The more outlandish it is the more they feel the need to justify it with threads like this one. They're so emotionally invested that truth no longer matters.
I had this same type of discussion last night when some moron decided that every judge, ringside observer and CompuBox itself were all corrupt in multiple Andre Ward fights in some bizarre grand conspiracy theory. At some point you just have to say "I can't fix crazy and I can't fix ******" and walk away.
People are really dumb, and will go to ridiculous lengths to try and justify things.
All of the facts are out there. All of the test results, the commission rulings, the court of appeals rulings, everything is there to be read, and you have to be willfully ignorant to misinterpret what they say.
Margarito was a cheater, and Cotto probably wasn't his first time.
Lets remember, Margarito did this with his fists in the ring.

I can't remember another fight where this happened, can anyone else?
Looks a little su****ious when you later learn that the man that did it was caught attempting to use plaster in his wraps...
Even the circumstantial evidence points to maybe something wasn't on the up and up.Comment

They found calcium and sulfur, the two components of calcium sulfate, aka plaster of paris.Yes, and i repeat they did not find plaster. Did you know sweat contains calcium? That would be present on used pads/wraps. Did you know that Richardson was allowed the take the pad to the Mosley locker room to do their own "examination?"...why? Now go do some reading about Richardson and see the type of person he is.
And... they found it wet... Hrmm... what is it again that you do to plaster to get it to start hardening? Oh... whats that? You wet it?
You mean the CSAC representatives that inspected the pad and said the white substance was hard to the touch where touching another hardening wet white substance composed of Calcium and Sulfur that isn't plaster? I'd love to know what this material is.
Id also like to know why Margarito's legal team didn't dispute that it was plaster on the wraps, or that they were illegal.
You know... if he was innocent and all.
Instead his legal defense came down too "But he didn't know about it".Comment

You didn't say it, you agreed with it.
....and your response:You ****s swear this "insert" the size and thickness of a business card would have made a difference in the Cotto fight.
Do you not read anything before you reply?Exactly, its good to see there are smart posters on here..few but there are.Comment

So now it was wet too huh... I already discussed the real points with those other fools. I will tell you this though since you brought/made it up. Say they were wet, do you know how much you have to heat it and the time for it to actually set and become actual plaster is? It dosen't instantly become plaster but like you said "people are dumb".They found calcium and sulfur, the two components of calcium sulfate, aka plaster of paris.

The inspectors literally testified that one of the pads was wetted. How dense are you my friend? So now it was wet too huh... I already discussed the real points with those other fools. Go read the transcripts...
I should probably define moist for you, since you have probably dont know what it means and wont look it up.Another inspector, Mike Bray, said during questioning that he had seen the pads and that they were "moist and dirty looking with a white substance smeared across the pad, like a cast plaster."
Its the same as wet.Comment

They literally make gauze embedded with plaster for making casts that you only have to wet...So now it was wet too huh... I already discussed the real points with those other fools. Your ignorance of the world around you doesn't make you correct. Its just makes people shake their head.
Btw, plaster sets in about 30 min. Well within the time frame of how long a fighter would have their hands wrapped before a fight.Last edited by !! Shawn; 02-07-2019, 03:16 PM.Comment
