No alphabet soup, no BS needed.

At times nobody needs to claim it. When Ali was the champ...When Dempsey was the champ...who needed to take claim to the title? The title is often cited when there needs to be a recognized champ and not a bunch of contenders...think about it.

You should take this L gracefully and come back another day...you getting a bit punchy. Its really not a hard concept to grasp, YOU may feel like the title is BS like some do here...fine.
Fury is nothing but a contender. Nobody looks at Fury and says "he's the man", he's not even top 5 in the vast majority of ratings. It's a joke to even argue him as the lineal champ, he isn't and judging by the thread boxingscene posted the majority of fans know he isn't. Get your little group of believers and write it in your diaries because it won't be remembered as a lineal title fight.

As long as the winner of Wilder vs Fury fights Joshua before either of them loses to someone else, this discussion is academic. The winner of that fight would be lineal, as well as undisputed WBC/WBA (Super)/IBF/WBO/Ring/IBO. Doesn't get more definitive than that.

No one truly "takes over" until they beat Fury in the ring.

That's the premise of this thread. What azzclowns do in his absence is irrelevant, he is the man to beat. Period.

Tyson Fury is my favourite current heavyweight but the fact is he tested positive for PEDS in the fight leading up to Klitschko and claimed his meat was contaminated. His appeal became a legal case which the testing body could not afford.
In the final settlement, he ACCEPTED the original sanction and a backdated ban which would have covered the Kiltschko fight.
As I said, Fury is my favourite of today's heavyweights and I am all for "the man who beat the man", but for me it would be hypocrisy to ignore the PED issue just because I like him.
not ignoring, just a different issue.

I Don't argue for any groups...argue on principle. Again the way you word things suggests that you are well intentioned, but misinformed. The lineal is not "argued for," It is simply the man who beat the man. Someone claims it based exclusively on this process. You understand this Robby I know you do whether you admit it, or not.

what exactly has crawford given us? oh nice...he fought the hornet who believes he lost because of blistering puss in his shoes...lol

and i like crawford...alot...but some of you are going insane with hate for al and the pbc...its literally driving you guys mad how he runs most of boxing and has a large stable of talent
Crawford won every title in quick time at 140 and basically cleaned at 135 first going in the road and then the Gamboa fight at the time was a big deal. Crawford has gotten so good and dominant his last achievement doesn’t look as impressive as it is.

He’s the most accomplished American fighter currently active by some distance.

Good to see Gene Tunney making a return to the ring, can't imagine he's in the best of shape though.

It is literally impossible to be stripped of a lineal title, retirement means nothing. The lineal champ is back and fighting next Saturday. The lineal championship is on the line.
So gene tunney is still champ then.
