Lineal at 147 is a problem because common sense says Pacquaio was never Lineal at 147 at all.

        Lineal is all nonsense really.

It would be like going to housing court and telling the judge. "The landlord gave me the 30 day notice your honor, and I did not leave because I happen to know he is a wife beating, drug addicted pedofile."

What do you think the judge would tell you?

Unfortunately you are conditioned to believe that for a title to be legitimate, there cannot be a conflict that has to be resolved. I gave you scenarios and never made a rule. In societies where lineage is important you actually see these situations occur, most notably in Japanese ancient martial arts. Sometimes a lineage splits, sometimes a lineage dies out, it depends.

There are many fine boxing historians, including Marchegiano here, who keep detailed and unbiased records...You see Robby what you are ignorant about is that the concept of the lineal, is ancient and it is in fact something the fans can have with no biase because the concept is King of the Hill: The guy who gets up there and topples the king becomes the new king. No alphabet soup, no BS needed.

At times nobody needs to claim it. When Ali was the champ...When Dempsey was the champ...who needed to take claim to the title? The title is often cited when there needs to be a recognized champ and not a bunch of contenders...think about it.

You should take this L gracefully and come back another day...you getting a bit punchy. Its really not a hard concept to grasp, YOU may feel like the title is BS like some do here...fine.

I'd be thrown out of course, but with respect, if you were found in court to have bought your home through the proceeds of ******* traffiking would you be allowed to keep it?
Tyson Fury is my favourite current heavyweight but the fact is he tested positive for PEDS in the fight leading up to Klitschko and claimed his meat was contaminated. His appeal became a legal case which the testing body could not afford.
In the final settlement, he ACCEPTED the original sanction and a backdated ban which would have covered the Kiltschko fight.
As I said, Fury is my favourite of today's heavyweights and I am all for "the man who beat the man", but for me it would be hypocrisy to ignore the PED issue just because I like him.

TBRB said he gave up the lineal when he vacated the title - I'm not 100% sure I agree in this case, but I do regard them as the best and most consistent rankers and hopefully they will become the accepted standard at some point, though - as always in this sport - there will never be 100% agreement.

Regardless - it'd be something of an empty accolade given that we've no idea whether Fury is actually a credible fighter anymore. I'm a fan of Wilder, despite his glaring flaws - more so than Joshua, in fact, but I'm really not thinking that calling him Lineal champion for beating Fury would sit comfortably with me.
