I'm not sure. It's called negotiating to get the fight made I guess. Hearn should think about it. Fury, like it or not is still the Linear champ.
If Wilder gave AJ basically everything, being the B side, including a flat fee offer as long as the fight was this year, after offering AJ the biggest purse guaranteed in history, you would think Hearn could have at least let them fight this year. But no he came up with the mandatory BS. Any fool can see they had no intention of fighting Wilder this year. Now it has backfired, and they are doing more damage control.
Wilder is in a position where he doesn't have to agree to anything. Soon more and more people will feel like I do, that who cares if the fight even happens. Sick of the lies and ******ity.Comment

Why is it greedy? Particularly considering per Hearn it's the biggest fight in British boxing history. It's not the biggest just because of Joshua. So why take less than 20% of that big pot. Why take less when Hearn himself said he should get more if he beats Fury?Comment

Haven’t read the contract but going off what frank said both have a rematch clause
Even though fury has no belts or clout
So no matter what the outcome we ain’t getting a Joshua fight April
Seems like a daft business move by wilders team unless they don’t want the fight but I’m sure in your eyes that will be hearns faultComment

A % of the gate and PPV sales. Parker got 33%. Wilder is not worth 40% assuming he beats Fury and is now also the linear champion? Remember Hearn said he is negotiating with the assumption Wilder wins. It's not rocket science. Just fair negotiating, assuming they want the fight to happen. Even at a 50/50 deal it would still be AJ's highest payday....but hell, its not about the money right? The $80 million guaranteed over two fights offer from team Wilder was turned down, and that was guaranteed even if Wilder won the first.Comment

So if Fury rematch clause allows Wilder to fight Joshua first then it's not a daft move but rather a smooth one. Granted..I haven't read the contract either, I just know that rematch clauses can and often do have conditions.Haven’t read the contract but going off what frank said both have a rematch clause

It’s not gonna help any negotiations because we are talking nearly a year down the lineComment

Wilder doesn't want the fight until 2020, if he beats Fury twice.
Let's move on. Joshua will move on and continue cleaning out.
Whyte, Miller and Hughie/Pulev winner next for AJ.Comment

In my view, if Wilder has a two way rematch clause requiring him to fight Fury even in a win, then Hearn and Finkel have played the best shell game I have seen in a while.Comment
