If he held no clout, he wouldn't get a rematch clause. Ortiz didn't get one. Neither did Stiverne in November 2017. Let's not be silly. Fury has clout.
As far as what I think, I think it doesn't matter until after the fight. Plenty of people have rematch clauses, get laid out bad in a fight, then either don't want the rematch, or don't want the rematch right away. It's in there in case a fight is close, controversial or warrants a rematch. Usually when it's one-sided, there are several ways to get around it.Comment

Yes it makes perfect sense if you don’t want to unify which is what this whole s**t storm is about
We want wilder Joshua next Not wilder fury 2Comment

Wilder did everything possible to try to unify. Agreed to a flat fee. Agreed to a one sided rematch clause. Hearn still refused to do the fight this year.
Wilder has moved on. He's got Fury now. Joshua can go fight Whyte and Usyk. If Hearn wanted Wilder on DAZN, it needed to happen before the new PBC TV deal kicked in. Now it's too late.Comment

No different to when Eddie was bleating on about Wilder having the Breazeale fight lined up last year."from what I understand they want to fight (Dillian) Whyte next and if (Oleksandr) Usyk is to beat (Tony)Bellew then they'll fight him in the fall. So if that's correct, the answer is - no."
I think Finkel is right. Sounds like the plan to me. So glad we don't pay PPV for these fights.
How is he gonna know without having any sort of dialogue with AJs team?
Makes me sick that promoter/manager ego on both sides is gonna stop this fight from happening.Comment

Hearn was insisting the Breazeale fight was a definite, was already signed, happening for sure, and Wilder's side was lying about it to trick people into believing they wanted to fight Joshua.
We now know Hearn was lying through his teeth.Comment

The only person who said Breazeale was next was...Eddie Hearn. The same Hearn who said Whyte is next if he can't get Wilder to sign a bad contract before he fights Fury. Very different. No different to when Eddie was bleating on about Wilder having the Breazeale fight lined up last year.
