    Nope.

I think prime Floyd beats any version of Oscar. Floyd didn't look that spectacular beating De La Hoya, but the fight wasn't that close. De La Hoya hit a lot of air and gloves that night.

Maidana and Castillo fights were close and Floyd arguably lost, especially the latter. The De La Hoya fight wasn't very close and Floyd won clearly.

Wasn't that Maywather's first venture at 154. He didn't even go all the way up to the weight.

De la wasn't at his prime at 34 because of all the the extra curricular activities he was partaking in. If he'd taken better care I felt himself he wouldn't be "shot" at 34.

With that being said, he wouldn't have beaten Mayweather because he wasn't as good as he claimed to be.

Castillo and Maidana got another chance to prove them wrong and failed! Oscar can't complain about not getting a rematch because he never gave one to Sweet Pea! KARMA!

Don't forget he struggled with Pernell Whitaker:

              BoxRec:

              - De La Hoya was a 3-1 favorite.

              - De La Hoya earned $10 million and Whitaker got $6 million.

              - There was a crowd of 12,200.

              - In the third round, De La Hoya suffered a cut under his right eye from an accidental headbutt. As a result, Whitaker had a point deducted. WBC rules state: "When a boxer suffers a cut, abrasion, or excessive swelling due to an unintentional/accidental head butt....A point will be deducted from the uninjured boxer. This point deduction will compensate the advantages acquired by the uninjured boxer."

              - De La Hoya suffered a flash knockdown in the ninth. He was caught off balance by a left from Whitaker and his right glove touched the canvas.

              - Whitaker landed 232 of 582 punches to 191 of 556 for De La Hoya. Of Whitaker's punches that connected, 160 were jabs to 45 for De La Hoya.

              - According to a Las Vegas Review-Journal poll of writers who covered the fight, 14 scored it for Whitaker, 11 for De La Hoya, and one scored it a draw.

              - The fight generated 720,000 pay-per-view buys and $28.8 million in PPV revenue.

De La Hoya used to hit air and gloves in the majority of his fights IMO. His ability to flurry without substantial results was enhanced by the screaming of chicks and incompetent onlookers accompanying every move of his.

Don’t be one of those idiots who always say “oh he’s older” loool
Any knowledgeable boxing fan knows mayweather’s style ages better. He fought the pac that already got planked by Marquez and couldn’t KO the algieris of the world version.

I had Pea winning 7-5. Good case for 8-4.
