You are only right against Pacquiao. 28-32 is usually the age of a fighters prime and he fought Mosley and DLH in those times. This is actually the first time I’ve been informed that Floyd was past prime during those times too lol he changed his style i’d give you that.
But just because he was not as offensive of a fighter as he was during his young days doesn’t mean he was past prime lol.
He changed his style by design. He threw less punches by choice, not because he couldn’t. He could still get off anytime he wants during those times he just chose not to.
Still doe he gets credit like he beat those guys during their primes just because he probably would have. That’s a no no in my book.
Compare the mosley that he fought to the one oscar fought.
And vice versa, it’s like night and day. Compare the Pac hatton and cotto fought to the one he fought.
Floyd’s low output, defense first style was meant for longevity, look at hopkins. Hence he won safely & easily against a 36 yr old pac whose style is meant for the young ones. If you don’t agree with that you’re bias af.
He would have won as well in their primes, but don’t you think Pac wouldn’t have done better? It’s the same as the Oscar debate.
But well let’s move on. None of those fights happened when fans exactly wanted them to, apart from Oscar-Mosley.
Now Floyd has to settle with Prime dangerous Corrales as his big win. Still a legendary resume though.Comment
