Everyone cried that he was fighting the only champ at 140. So, he went back down to 135. Linares was his mandatory. After Mikey announce he was fighting at 135, Linares refused to fight him. So he is fighting Easter, who is the best at 135 who is wiling to fight him.


Mikey doesn't fight guys coming off a loss, Loma does though. Also both guys have fought Orlando Salido. And you already said only having a loss to Salido means you are not even close to being elite.

Keep this in mind, every big title Mikey has won, he beat the champion for that title. Mikey has yet to go out there a win a vacant title like many other top fighters. He is a 4 division champ by beating a champion in every division. There's a lot of fighters who have won belts in a number of divisions, but some of those were vacant.

His last 2 'world titles' were won from guys who had won them as vacant belts in their previous fight, so not exactly great champions.

What being a 4 division champ is a low standard??? Loma has said he won't fight at 140, he won't even try for a title in a 4th division. He would get much more credit for beating a champ at 140 then he will for fighting Berchelt at 135.

This is what I don't understand, there were a lot of people saying that he ducked Robert Easter because he moved up to fight Broner and then he goes back down to LW to fight undefeated Easter and he still gets $h!tted on, let's remember that Mikey is young and has a lot more years of fighting, I think right now he's been stepping up, and eventually he will fight everyone that wants it, but that's just my opinion.
