Is Mikey on a HOF trajectory?

I think Mikey has HOF talent. But he better step up his resume if he wants to get in the HOF.

10 years in, what are his best fights? Siri, Broner, hopefully Easter this Sat... IMO, thats borderline HOF at best.

I really like Mikey, and recognize his immense talent. But Im SOOOOOO TIRED of him calling out tough fights and not actually fighting them.

And call me a hAtEr, but it upsets me that people think he's a courageous guy just because he **calls out** tough fights....

Cmon fight fans, be a little cynical. Who has he ACTUALLY FOUGHT.

Has Mikey EVER been in a fight where he wasnt at least a -180 FAVORITE? I dont think he has. If he has, name the fight (He was about -200 fav over Broner).

HOW TF, given this information, is Mikey a "courageous fighter"?

If he beats Loma, Spence and Crawford and finishes his career undefeated then I think he would be a 1st ballot HOF'er

I think the size of his head deserves HoF status

If Mikey never fights above 140 he will easily make it. The only guy with a chance at lightweight is Loma (Loma would be favored too). At 140, Prograis is the only guy with a real chance. Below 147, there just isn't much talent. He is a 4 division champ. If he never moves up to ww, I can only see him losing to Loma and possibly Prograis (which would be one of the best fights that could be made. Both guys stand in the pocket and ****, it would be action-packed). A 4 division champ with something like a 40-2 record is HOF. If he moves up to 147, he will need to beat someone good there.

The only name I've heard him call out is Spence. And he has been saying he wants to fight him after Easter. No reason to doubt that. He was asked about Cotto, and he woulda fought him, but he refused to sign his career over to ODLH. Same as Spence. He has answered questions about Loma saying he wants to fight him, and Loma and Arum have answered questions about Mikey with yea, but not until next year at the earliest.

He should answer questions about who he wants to fight with "I'm just focused on my next fight, right now." Instead he says what I believe to be the truth. He wants to fight the best, because he honestly believes he can beat the best.

Two fights ago, he moved up in weight to fight Broner. A smart career move, no doubt. Broner is probably the biggest name at 140 (though not the best). After that he fought the only guy with a belt at 140 for a title in his fourth division. He was supposed to fight Linares after that, but Linares backed out on their agreement. So he is instead fighting the next best at 135, in a unification bout. If Mikey beats Easter and doesn't make any real effort to fight Spence or some other top fighter next, I will be with everyone else, that he says names with no intention of fighting them. But I don't know who everyone thinks Mikey should have been fighting. Everyone cried that he was fighting the only guy with a belt at a higher division. So, he went back down to 135 and is fighting the best that will fight him. I don't understand why anyone doubts that he wants to fight best.

From the looks of it, Mikey will lose to Spence late this year. Mikey has said he wants Spence after Easter, and Spence would be happy to fight him.

I don't see Mikey beating Crawford or Spence, but I do see him fighting Spence.

Is Crawford HOF material already because he hasn't really beaten any top name other than a overhyped Gamboa. Yes he was undisputed at 140, but he didn't face and beat any elite fighter for those titles. It's on par with what Mikey has done to be a 4 division champ. I think both Crawford and Mikey are in the same boat.

I'm pretty tired of the calling out for fights (with no intention of fighting them) and getting lavish praise for "courage" but I do consider him elite talent. Is he willing to test himself enough to be worthy? I don't think so. I think he's gonna go the numbers route. That whole grabbing a 4th title and dropping it without defending it (he's made I think 1 title defense in 5 years and is barely having his first unification and it's vs. a poor champ) would suggest so.

I've lost interest in him personally. If I'm not out of town I go to all fights in LA and despite this being on my doorstep I'm not even considering going to this Saturday's fight.

Outside of Loma and possibly Prograis, who else under 147 would Mikey not be a -180 favorite over???

Arum has made clear Loma ain't fighting him anytime soon, and until less than a year ago, Prograis was fighting on Showtime's Friday fights showcasing top prospects. I'm not sure who everyone thinks Mikey should be fighting.
