People know this. They hate on him because he left Top Rank so he could fight the best. They cry that he didn't fight Gamboa and Uchiyama because Arum wouldn't let him. Then they cry that he fought a champ at 140. Now they cry that he is fighting the best at 135 who will fight him.

It's just the typical Haymon haters. Loma can fight some bum coming off a loss, and he is great. Mikey is a 4 division champ, but he left TR so he is nothing.

Easter is a good fight. Hes a solid strapholder. Easter has some defensive holes, and Mikey is a SHARP puncher, so I think Mikey will KTFO Easter. But Easter is a good (not great) fight.

Lipinets & AB were good (not great) challenges too.

I dont want anyone to think I hate Mikey or I think hes garbage.

His resume IMO is good - NOT GREAT.

Its just when dudes go full on hugger mode and believe that EVERYONE is ducking him. (Hmm, if a fighter has a long list of fights that didnt get made ... maybe there's a common denominator here?)

I WANT MIKEY TO STEP IT UP AND make the HOF. I WANT Mikey to fight Loma, or even Linares, and I will root for Mikey in those fights. I want him to fight not just B guys like Lipinets, but B+ guys like Prograis or Ramirez.

Ive just been slightly disappointed by his career.

There, all one or two syllable words, so hopefully you can understand that. I know, them long words are too tough for you.
Mikey has fought 17 fighters coming off losses. 10 fights ago he fought a washed up former flyweight coming off 6 straight losses (including 9 losses in 10 fights). Almost half his pro fights are bums coming off losses.

When has Loma refused a test?

Mikey's head got a lot bigger Pacquaio/Mayweather style though.

Im trying to even remember who Loma fought coming off a loss and had to think hard ... as if anyone ever cites Marriaga as one of Loma's good wins.

Meanwhile. same dude cites WASHED ASS JUAN MA as one of Mikey's good wins.

Dr Cool its pretty obvious that you only know names and the superficial aspect of boxing (4 DIVISION CHAMP, WOW!!). Burgos and even Roman Martinez were better wins for Mikey than wrecked and washed JuanMa. If you knew boxing, you would know that, but I guess you can keep supporting your boy Mikey the best way you know how.

Yeah, JuanMa was a punching bag by that point and Mikey still cheated the scales to buy an extra advantage. I don't think Marriaga is a special fighter or Sosa but they are both better than that version of JuanMa. His two losses to Salido (who I'm sure was juiced) were brutal and took all the fight out of him.

3 or 4 big wins away but then so are a lot of fighters.

Yeah seriously, "He left Top Rank so he could fight the best."

Umm, Zlatican, Broner & Lipnets is NOT - by any stretch of the imagination - "the best."

And for the record, I fully support Mikey -- or any boxer -- taking more control of their career. But I wont accept all the excuses "they want options" (esp when the final offer had no options) "not my network", blah blah blah. You either make the fights or you dont, and I will judge you by your actual resume.

But I am hopeful for Mikey. Stop the B-list fights (or at least alternate them w better fights), and make some A-list fights, or even B+ fights. That can take you to the HOF.

People consider Canelo a HOF for having two good wins in Lara and Trout. Every other named fighter he fought was way past it or a fighter who was brought up in weight who wasn't even a top fighter in his weight class. Canelo is 2 division champ, beating Mathew Hatton,(catch weight), Lara and Liam Smith at 154. Beating Cotto (catch weight) at 160. Lara was a good win, he was still a top champ at 154 after. Trout, never did accomplish much after and keeps racking up L's. Liam Smith just lost to a 21 year old prospect. We are in an era where you only have to beat to known top fighters to be considered great and feel entitled.
