It's always about the money. Wilder wants a fair shake. A Wilder/AJ fight isn't the same as AJ/Parker or AJ/Whyte fight financially. AJ could fight whoever and continue to make what he makes. Canelo didn't need to fight GGG. He could have fought anyone and made his usual 20 million. Obviously he chose to fight GGG knowing how big of fight that would be and it would gross a lot of money. They offered GGG a flat fee as well, way more than the 2 million he was making. However, they wanted the fight bad enough that they ended up giving him a percentage to make the fight. Something AJ and Hearn don't want.

No, Eddie's a trickster. That's what I call a bait-and-switch. Let's just say what you are saying is true. They had several weeks to fill in those blanks. The only reason why they didn't put that in writing was because they would have been sued had they have done so for breach of contract. It was a secret postdated contract to begin with for April 2019; As they had no plans for fighting Wilder in 2018 anyhow. The contract was artfully and masterfully manipulated with carefully guarded words. Their intentions were to delay the fight all along. It's very sad that decent innocent fans such as yourself; Who just so happens to be an Anthony Joshua fan refuse to see that fact.Comment

If an A side fighter really wants the fight, they will make the fight regardless. Canelo could have easily not fought GGG, for the same excuses people are making up for AJ. Canelo is the money man and GGG was offered a flat fee that was 5 or 6 times his purse. GGG was making 2M per fight. Canelo wanted the fight bad enough that he gave GGG a percentage. Same thing with this year, GGG made 1M for the Vanes fight. GGG wouldn't back down from the split he wanted, Canelo could have walked away because GGG was pricing himself out and fought Jacobs or O'Sullivan. Canelo agreed to give GGG more to make the fight, why? because he wanted to actually fight GGG and knows that it will bring in more money than if he fought someone else.Comment

Because it's for 2019 and not for this year 2018. Deontay wants to fight him right now for free just so he could get those title straps off him and become the undisputed heavyweight champion.Comment

Golovkin was a much bigger name with a much bigger reputation, so he deserved to be paid. Wilder doesn't.
How much do you think Golovkin was paid in the first fight?Comment

Wilder wants to fight for free now does he? Haha. Wilder, and his fans become more pathetic as time goes on. If you're convinced by that fraud, then good luck to you. Wilder never would, or ever will fight for free. He thinks 15 mill is not enough, even though he's a scrub who earns a pittance fighting bums in unsold arenas. He's only piping up now because he knows it's safe due to Joshua fighting Povetkin. When Joshua has taken care of business, Wilder will get back to being a greedy little nobody asking for half.Comment

It's obvious AJ is the money maker in the UK, he can continue to fight other fighters and make his usual 20M. However, a fight with Wilder will generate way more money than his fights with Whyte and Parker. Why would Wilder leave money on the table when he's a one of the reason for the fight will out gross any other AJ fight. Pretty much Hearn and AJ want to rob Wilder of money that he will bringing in via US revenue and interest in the fight. If Hearn really believes that giving Wilder a 35/40% split means it will be less than the 15M flat fee, then why not do it. Why is he worried what Wilder will get paid.Comment

AJ’s two biggest fights have each done 1million plus buys here. The Wilder fight will drum up huge interest here just cos it’s AJ. Alot of his fans are casual in every sense of the word so I’m not sure about that.Comment
