Oh **** off. No one else is held to that standard. Ward retired rather than fight Stevenson because there wasn't enough money. Mayweather wouldn't even get out of bed to train for a fight unless he was guaranteed 30 million. But yet, GGG is rich and he can fight for free if need be.

No it doesn't. No one was being forced to fight on 3 weeks notice back then.

Its not a duck when you're scheduling a fight last minute on a limited budget. There was not enough money for both Sergei D and GGG to be on the card.

No one is being a hypocrite. Not enough money for GGG/Sergei D in the HBO budget.

No money in HBO's budget for the fight on that date. For ****s sake. They were only offering 1 million dollars total. Not enough money to make both sides happy.

Nobody forced Golovkin to fight on that date, he chose to do so. He could have easily pushed the fight back a month and got a better opponent.

Really isn't the time to be talking about paydays, you take what you get offered for the most part.
I dunno what happened this whole thing people saying Golden Boy had a big part to play in it all, I do think GGG Vs Dereyachenko should earn both guys a few million each, but its likely they were both being handed chump change in to comparison to what it would earn the big wigs.

Quite conveniently it wasn’t 3 weeks, the fight has been off now a little more than that.

This money excuse wasn’t allowed back then. Those fighters were straight duckers. How convenient that now the money isn’t enough or there isn’t enough time to make the fight.

No one on this forum would choose to do a hard job over an easy job if they paid the same.

                      End of story.
