So, you are okay with some outright ducks, as long as it is money related? I thought you were against all ducks. Any fighter can justify ducking for their own particular reasons. Why should money be the only justifiable one?

Just like I suspected. They weren't held to that date. The date could've been postponed. But instead of postponing the date and getting a legit fight he held the date and picked the worst possible opponent available.

Of course. No one held them to the date. Technically any fight can be postponed. They didn't want to and that's their right. Their guy already spent a lot of time training for May 5th. Their guy likes to fight often and has already fought a lot less than normal including not a single fight since early September of last year. Fighting now keeps them on schedule to fight in September again.

Canelo is not to blame for Loeffler picking Vanes. Especially with Loeffler saying they could've postponed the date. So now we know that date wasn't firm and Loeffler went out his way to pick the worst possible opponent.

Why are people talking about a Canelo fight? Is there any legit source that this fight is agreed to and is planned for September? No speculation. Any facts?

Because its the fight that makes the most sense for both guys. Biggest fight. They'll make the most money. There is bad blood. Both guys are convinced they won the first fight. It makes too much sense for them not to fight or to delay the fight past September.

Lets say Sergei D demanded 500k for the fight. That's a low figure considering he wanted 400k for Andrade but lets say he was willing to take 500k. With a 1 million dollar budget GGG would also get 500k. GGG has 3 belts, owns a close victory over Danny Jacobs, fought Canelo to a draw in a fight that sold more than a million ppvs in his previous fight. How is it fair to get salary parity with a guy who only has 13 fights with his biggest win coming against a washed up Sam Soliman and whom is coming off a fight with a guy who had a .500 record.

I was asking for facts and sources, not speculation, that this fight would happen in September. I guess the answer to my original question is NO.

Do you have any real reason to believe the fight won't happen is September to counter the many reasons people think the fight will happen in September? Or are you just speculating. Its still 2 weeks before the date the original rematch was scheduled and you're demanding hard facts from sources about a fight in September?

Are you gonna use Canelo as an excuse for everything Golovkin does??? If so then you really have to get ready to treat him the same way when he vacates the IBF! Canelo got the worst treatment when he was 155 and was gonna have to give up 45 percent of his purse to ggg! You guys were ok with that but Now your singing a different tune when Golovkins is being a coward

Oh bull*****. GGG made around 15 million dollars for the first Canelo fight. You are comparing a situation in which the fight was worth so much that the B-side got around 15 million dollars with a situation where both sides needed to split 1 million dollars? Canelo was nickel and diming GGG. In this case GGG's team was making the most of a bad situation.

Tom clearly didn't give a figure for how much they were willing to take. He is also only talking about it after the fact when no deal was possible. So who knows how much they actually demanded.
