yeah who knows how it will play out in the courts, but they do have language that covers that etc will be dumb not to since that is a very important scenario that can present itself.
The point you're missing is: No opposing legal team will say "in the event YOUR team messes up this entire fight by testing positive for a drug that causes for you suspension, it is hereby okay by us, you are no longer on the hook for any of the guaranteed/contracted purse, regardless of our client's training fees, manager fees, sparring partners, travel expenses, etc"

If GGG had any PPV percentage, sponsors, etc, they could get reduce by millions since he is literally fighting nobody, from porobably one million PPV's to maybe 150K if that( I am just guessins) dont be surprised HBO puts it as BAD, making GGG lose even more money.
I stick with my opinion that they've no grounds to sue if they proceed with another fight on the same date. You may not even hear anything about it, knowing how incompetent GGG's team is.

      We shall see soon enough.

The event DID get canceled. The event, which was "Canelo vs GGG 2" is indeed not happening. Fighting on the same date has nothing to do with this fight. Fighting in the same city has nothing to do with this fight. Tom Loeffler and his legal team have to draft an entirely new contract for a different venue, a different opponent, a different guaranteed purse, draft new resolutions for HBO PPV numbers and prices, decide what hotels will air the fight, decide how they will advertise with the little amount of time they have left, etc.

they have some language in their that covers that.

And your acting like GGG has any power in these negations. GGG wants the fight really Canelo can care less, so GGG will sign anything they give him really.

and the wording wont be like that, it will be something like

If any party so happens to get suspended due to medical injuries or other reasoning that fight shall be postponed or sc****d indefinitely without any compensation for either party.

Welcome to the real world lil nukka.

ggg's team is not incompetent. they took an unknown fighter from bum *** kazakhstan with no fan base whatsoever and turned him into star fighter headlining on HBO. ggg made his HBO debut in 2012. you may not hear anything but I think gbp might cut a deal with ggg and cut him a check and they go ahead with rematch.

1st of all, all legal teams will catch that and demand that all scenarios be laid out and concrete. Adding "other reasoning" is far too vague and will allow for outright foolishness. That's not how it works. GGG won't just sign just anything. If the guaranteed purse was $500k for GGG, you think he'd sign that too? Smh. Look, we're talkin in circles here.

You're of the belief that the legal team and promoter for GGG are so incompetent that they'd eat the cost of everything that goes into a fight (from training expenses, manager cut, sparring partners, etc) and totally forgive Canelo for any wrongdoing.

You're welcome to be the only person that would think that.

And the whole narrative of "canelo doesn't need this fight, Gennady does" is far too overused as well as misleading. For you not to need this fight, Canelo sure does show other wise. It must suck to get suspended over a fight you don't care about. My point is: Canelo indeed does care.

I said something liek that, not a damn verbatum example. And stop looking at it from the POV of canelo team trying to get one over on GGG its there for both figthers protection etc thats why it will be accepted.

psssh im tired who cares, let ggg sue what the fuck do I care.

The only dirty meat Clenelo digested was Oscar's. And no, it wasn't 20lbs, more like 2 ounces.

No, I'm not looking at it from the POV of "canelo is trying to get one over on Gennady". I'm looking at it from the level of "there isn't one legal team that will allow that, nor any promoter who has their best interest in mind that will allow their fighter to basically be penalized/come out of pocket for their opponents wrong doings - which ultimately comes out of his pocket"

He'll get his money. If they can't get the entire purse, it will be 100% adjace.
