I have enormous respect for Wlad turning his career around. There was a time post Sanders where his confidence was so shot that it looked like a strong wind might knock him over, huge chin and stamina issues.Yeah, they're pretty much all the Boxing Scene White Supremacy crowd. If Wlad was from Ghana his nuthuggers wouldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole: They slobber all over his gonads SOLEY because he's a white Euro.
No matter how hard they try, the power of Wlad's whiteness can't make him an ATG.
There has rarely been a fighter I have been more behind than when Wlad fought Peter. The reason being that I knew he had great talent, and wanted to see him fulfil his potential against a huge chorus of naysayers. He would get seriously bashed on forums like this back then.
Now it's gone completely the other way! Real boxing fans have to deal with these lunatics, who create their own parallel universe. Absolutely no perspective, they have to make linear comparisons because they have no ability to judge boxing ability with their eyes.Comment

Wlad isn't even in the top 10 most athletic boxers ever.Wlad made that era look bad by how bad he was beating everybody. He broke everyone's spirit.
He was just a superior specimen. A real superheavyweight and the most athletic boxer ever.
There is no boxer in history who wouldn't rack up at least 10 loses if he tried to go through Wlad's resume if he was forced to box that long.
Lewis boxed for 13 years, Wlad had a pro career of 21 years on top of winning a gold medal. Imagine if Lewis had to go through 7 more years and face the competition Wlad was facing. He would have like 15 losses. A 41 year old version Lewis would get murdered by 2017 version of Joshua.
Like I said, NOBODY in the history of boxing wouldn't go through Wlad's resume without at least 10 loses.Comment

What thread was this in?Everything is either gay Floyd based or race based. I killed him on a debate two weeks ago and kept calling him out then he blocked me.
He said
38 is younger than 33
Losing 4 in 5 fights is better than winning 5 in 5
6 months is longer than 16
4 years is less than 7 years
Margarito has a better legacy than Morales
Cotto has a better legacy and did better than Pacquaio heads up
Mosley has better legacy than Barrera (that's the sanest thing he said and still way off)
Just to suit his argument.
Dudes a clown.Comment

During the Wlad's era HW division had the biggest and the most talented pool of athletes ever, because it was the most global. Wlad is the only HW champion ever who beat fighters from every single continent of the World.
In fact, before the 90s the HW had a limited talent pool because the Eastern Euros and the Cubans couldn't participate.
Wlad beat the HW division when the talent pool was bigger than at any point in history prior to that as evidenced by him fighting African, Asian, European, Oceanian, South American and North American fighters. Before the 00s, HW division was mostly just AmericansComment

Before the Wlad's era the HW division was LIMITED and consisting of mostly overhyped local American boxers. It's only in the 00s that the HW division became really global. Wlad was the first real heavyweight champion of the WORLD and not just of the USA.Comment

I'm sorry but this is simply not the case. There was a global HW scene long before the 90s, just read a little boxing history and you will see.During the Wlad's era HW division had the biggest and the most talented pool of athletes ever, because it was the most global. The HW title used to be one of the most prestigious in world sports and offered rewards that other sports could never match. That changed as the 90s progressed and the calibre of athletes coming into the sport began to drop.
Again, not an attack on Wlad who took on the available opposition bar his brother, but he didn't face the calibre of opposition that Lewis fought through most of his career.Comment

The HW title was always prestigious, it's just that the Americans pretend that they don't care about it once they got their asses kicked by Eastern European, Cuban and British heavyweights.I'm sorry but this is simply not the case. Before the 90s former communist countries weren't allowed to compete. This is a huge part of global population which has historically always excelled in all kinds of sports. You can't say boxing was better before the 90s when Eastern Euros couldn't even participate.
Imagine if every single Olympics took place without the communist countries being allowed to participate, who would take them seriously as a global event? Nobody.
Eastern Europeans are the most athletic people in the world. It took only 10 years of pro boxing in Eastern Europe to produce the most dominant heavyweight champion ever.
If Eastern Euros and Cubans etc. were still banned in the 90s and 00s you would be hyping the likes of Byrd and Briggs as ATGs because nobody would be there to beat them.Comment
