Wilder-Whyte would've instantly been booked for Box Office, Wilder would've been traveling to Whyte's home city (Matchroom Sport would've made a killing at O2), and he would've been doing so for a voluntary defense.

Maybe I'm missing your gripe, but you do know that Matchroom Sport would've been able to do massive business on the fight (not Joshua numbers, but $10m+ wouldn't have been all that off, imo)

Why do fighters who don't believe in 50/50 ask for a 60/40 or 70/30 to the winner? Then let the gloves do the talking to see who deserves more! This is a quaking duck if it don't happen. It's a damn what boxing has become.

If everything goes as planned, Joshua flattens Takam in October, Whyte wins his fight on the undercard, Wilder flattens Stiverne in November, Joshua fights Luis Ortiz, with Wilder fighting Dillian Whyte, in March, and the hype for the PPV runs from April through August (Alvarez-Golovkin likely draws attention, but that'd be done by mid-May).

Press tour (with the extra media obligations in the different markets), All Access (three episodes and an epilogue), and the earned media that comes with it (James Corden bringing on Anthony Joshua to the Late Late show, the ladies of The View bringing Deontay Wilder on, New York radio pushing interviews nationally, the print press telling the stories of these two fighters in the papers, etc) and you'd have an event.

There's a ceiling for what can be drawn in the UK, and the Klitschko fight set it.
Well, if they plan on doing this major press/media/television tour for this bout, then this fight will undoubtedly take place in Las Vegas and on ppv because the U.K. Market is just too small to host a major event as this.

They lack the mass marketing media of ppv television in order to distribute a fight of this magnitude. Therefore, this fight will undoubtedly take place in Las Vegas since that is where all the big money is.

In addition, I expect both guys to demand a minimum guarantee of at least $50 mil each. If this bout were to take place in the U. K. Then no doubt that Deonaty Wilder should be expected to receive shorts on the fight. However, if it happens in the U.S. Then he should expect to receive at least a parity of the purse split.

Hearn saw how easy it was for slow ass klitscho to hit Joshua. Well Wilder's punch is coming with speed and power. Joshua is getting stop if they ever fight.

Vegas is the most sensible place to stage the fight imo, and I sincerely doubt that either guy would waste their time with asking for a $50m guarantee.

All of the money is on the table, with Hearn, DiBella, Haymon, and Joshua's management having no reason to hide money from anyone at the table.

The parties involved will figure out the different breakdowns, but I earnestly see Wilder getting $1m, Joshua getting $1m, Joshua keeping the UK/Europe TV, and Wilder getting enough of the US revenues to end up with a fighter split of 65/35 Joshua once every piece is paid out.

$20m to Joshua, $10m to Wilder isn't all that bad a deal in the end (even if it'd take a year to see all of that money come in), and could be world's more than that if things take off (have no doubt that the contract will have a US PPV split beyond a certain revenue level price point written in; with the boom being in the US, that number may end up being 50/50).

Parker deserves a better split than Wilder. He's beaten far better opponents and actually has a fan base in own country.

Wilder has no fans and the lousiest resume of any world title holder ever.

It's a shame Wilder has spent his whole career fighting bums instead of building a name and a fan base for himself

When your best win is a fat 40 year old journeyman and you can walk the streets in your own home town without being recognised you have no right to demand anything from a rising star like AJ.

I know you guys see him as obscure and that's fine but New Zealand is a relatively wealth country (even if it's small) and his core fan base is pretty supportive. Not meaning to generalise, but I think Parker's fan base can and will pay higher PPV fees than Wilder's core in Alabama. Also, boxing fans in the US have a range of different options to support. New Zealand (and Australian) fans only have a handful of top fighters, so their options are limited and they're more likely to support the guys they have.
For sure, Parker is a bigger name than Wilder. He also has a far better resume.
