Are you sure? Because although unifying the division is important, I doubt it happens anytime soon. Thurman sounds uninterested in fighting anytime soon and Horn is Co-Promoted by TR and is tied up with much bigger fights like Crawford and Manny.

I hate to see Spence sit out the majority of 2018 like he did in 2017.

He might fight Peterson early next year. Peterson isn't a draw, isn't a champion, isn't relevant to boxing history and is not going to the Hall of Fame. Good fight though.

He might fight Porter but the same circumstance as Peterson. Another good fight but who's going to be watching.

And from an outsider pov, the answer is not clear.
The Cotto fight is automatically a benefit for his career. Unless Haymon is offering a possible Mayweather fight, then everything I said in my previous post in mute.

Good fights on the PBC side but no life-changing opportunities unless he fights Mayweather. Plus dude really needs a promoter to actually promote him.

I think Thurman fight happens no later then August next year personally let Thurman get a tuneup in beating Cotto at 154 and vacating belt to drop back down to 147 would be stalling not to mention where would he go from there after beating Cotto? Oscar burned most of his bridges with top rank and Haymon would he offer a fight with canelo at 160 prob not golden boy doesn’t have a lot to offer to pick up options on these fighters

That's ridiculous to use Cotto as bait to sign a fighter smh Just make the fight and get prospects the original way instead of trying to take short cuts

Oscar needs to start styling his hair like Don King. All the same BS. Golden Boy has nobody at 147 or 154. What are they going to do for Spence? Who is Golden Boy willing to work with at those weight classes? Haymon has the guys that Spence wants. Garcia, Porter, Thurman. Haymon has all the 154 fighters as well.

Wouldn't he still be advised by haymon though? So couldnt he still fight pbc fighters even if he was promoted by gb?

Oscar is a garbage promoter. He and his company aint **** without Canelo. Some of you fools need to stop deluding yourselves.

Óscar would more than likely use same tactic for other Haymon fighters if they want to fight Spence

This explains why Haymon gave him a bonus of $3.5 mil. Exactly why all of them gets overpaid for fighting cab drivers. Keep them from signing with other promoters.
