GGG's Legacy

They just know Floyd and don't really know the sport and any critique on their idol they feel fit to go on the defensive and then start tearing apart fighters that they don't know about from era's they don't know about and spew mad hypocrisy and lies like homeboy claiming 1984 was earlier than 1983. Massive lack of knowledge right there. Larry hates Hagler now because it fits his Floyd's the best ever GGG is the worst ever narrative despite seeing maybe 1-2 of his fights and not knowing his era or opponents. He claimed Hagler ducked 168 years before the division was even invented and that Hatton is better than Duran and Hearns LOL.Comment

[QUOTE=djtmal;18114552]Date mix up.....sue me. Fact remains that Duran was small and way past prime. Hearns was not ****ing prime when he fought hagler....get that bs outta here. Hagler has ZERO prime ATG's on his resume and it dont matter how much you hate on or downgrade Floyd's resume he is still considered greater than hagler on almost every respectable list. All past prime, duran was ktfo by hearns worst than pacquiao
lmao...duran was ko'd by hearns, AFTER he lost to hagler....duran, even the slightly past prime one hagler fought, is arguably top 10 all-time, is miles above anybody floyd beat...and as we all know, floyd got the balls to even see a pac fight thru only after he was put to sleep by marquez
and hearns had been in wars prior to fighhting hagler....
you must be sh**ting me...
don't try to put extras on it...hearns was still quite prime, had only been tko'd by the sugar man, and obliterated, let me say that again, obliterated top 10 all time duran going into the hagler fight, was part of one of the greatest wars in boxing history...broke his hand on marvin's head....lol....
all of his biggest wins are from small past prime fighters coming up in weight. Nobody with any boxing knowledge ranks him above floyd.
floyd's biggest wins are ricky hatton, canelo alvarez, and corrales...some of the greatest fighters of all-time right thereComment

[QUOTE=Xi_;18114885]Hearns was actually favored in the odds and very much considered prime. Remember your not that good at working times and that out but he had beaten Benitez (a great fighter) and Duran coming in. He was "prime" just not at his greatest weight but that's still a great fighter at a time when the match was perfectly matched.Date mix up.....sue me. Duran small and past his prime still better than anything Floyd has tackled. He had great victories AFTER he fought Hagler.
You talk about these "respectable" lists but I don't see them. As an example Ring magazine (which you lot hold gospel when it suits) rated the best fighters alive and Hagler rated I believe 4 or 5 and Mayweather 7 or 8. That's polling around 30 historians. People whom off the top of their heads already know that Duran dropped down to fight Hearns after challenging Hagler.Last edited by chrisJS; 10-05-2017, 04:06 PM.Comment

10. Larry Holmes
9. Manny Pacquiao
8. Jake Lamotta
7. Floyd Mayweather Jr.
6. Julio Caesar Chavez Sr.
5. Marvin Hagler
4. Evander Holyfield
3. Pernell Whitaker
2. Roberto Duran
1. Sugar Ray Leonard
As polled by around 30 Boxing historians and journalists. That's at least one list so that's certainly more than "ANY".
What "Wars" had Hearns and Duran been in that constitutes multiple? Explain that.
FYI Duran-Barkley, Hearns-Leonard II were AFTER.Comment
