    GGG's Legacy

What will Golovkin's place in history look like if he defeats Canelo next May and then knocks out Floyd Mayweather the following September? Because anyone that doesn't think Floyd will return and try to school GGG (like he said would be easy for him to do) if he wins is being naïve.

I can only imagine how he would look if he then lured Andre Ward out of retirement and whooped his ass, too. Imagine taking both Floyd and Ward's undefeated streaks.

Floyds not fighting Golovkin, with that being said after seeing triple G not being able to land on Canelo no way Golovkin beats Floyd. Easy ud

Golovkin is a decent boxer who beat average boxers, he will be forgotten as he is not a great elite fighter..But he made some good money and looks like he had a great time doing it

The only way he doesn't fight Golovkin is if GGG loses to Canelo... But that's not the proposed, hypothetical question.

Boxing is no longer about legacy and fans need to accept that. Take a look at this current generation that's coming up, not one of them is trying to take the torch. You have a few fighters that care about it but that number is minimal. It's like hip-hop the moment mofo's realized they could play their cards right and get paid well for it with low risk "mastery of lyricism" went damn near underground with a few exceptions. Half this boxing class doesn't even want to fight each other. They bark loud for the cameras but when they stop rolling they look for the least risk and best reward.

But every fighter's career will still be looked at and remembered a certain way, and I'm just wondering how Golovkin will be seen if he defeats Canelo, Mayweather, and maybe even Andre Ward back to back in his next three fights.

Canelo, Mayweather and Ward? Are you serious? Why even think about this, this will never ever happen... And he never beats Floyd or Ward.

I think legacy goes back to barbershop/forum talk. At the end of the day these guys are taking mountains of abuse for a paycheck. There are a lot of solid legacy guys that are dead broke today and it's something that's also led to the fall of the HW division which is just now picking up heat around maybe 5 names. The reality is what we want and what these guys are willing to give doesn't always line up. I mean if you could get a million bucks to fight a Rod Salka why would you fight an Erroll Spence? I for one see both sides of the argument but it's hard to argue with the state of boxing because we've watched it unfold and supported it while it happened.

1.) Needs to get past Canelo convincingly
2.) In order to lure Floyd out, he needs to prove he can generate lots and lots of money...considering his PPV numbers prior to fighting Canelo were ****, very doubtful
3.) Needs to get past Canelo convincingly
