pavlik was a huge middle. him and mcclellan were two of the biggest mw champs ever.

miranda was big for 160, he rehydrated a lot and had trouble making weight when he fought pav

canelo is stocky and weighs a lot because of his fat ginger legs but isn't tall and does not have long arms.

There is a reason for weight classes. They are t meant to be manipulated by guys who don't have the balls to fight in their own weight class where they belong. That is how fighters get hurt or mismatches occur.

Dudes should fight in their natural weight division, not try to create mismatches by fighting guys who are naturally 15 pounds lighter than them.

Then you have middle weights like Canelo and ggg fighting b and c level welterweights lol only in this era. That would be equivalent to a ranked Pavlik facing Luis Collazo. And I don’t even think khan has even ever face a top welterweight either lol

Marvin Hagler, which is one of the best MW's of all time was 5′ 9',

I think that the Pavlik era was just one where big guys were making extreme weight cuts to fight at 160, I base that on the fact that most of those MW's moved up later.

The MW's of this time are guys who are physically more closer naturally to the weight and while there might be just a few names I strongly think that the elite fighters at 160 of this era would've given problems to those guys. (Except maybe for Prime Bernard Hopkins, the guy was just special)

the number of divisions you represented, is completely irrelevant

but, here is the point you are missing.....

the guys who fought in multiple divisions had more opportunities to face elite/great fighters

Golovkin has a very average resume, fighting in a stagnant middleweight era..... and he did not move up - or make any type of concessions - to chase bigger/better fights.....

whichever way a fighter chooses to manage his career, the results will speak for themselves..... and results = resume
