why burn history just because you love Golovkin ?

I very rarely agree with you

you have a typical skewed " fan " viewpoint

    the WHOLE story is this.....

the determining factor for greatness is.....

who you beat, with consideration given to when/how

    NOTHING else

the number of divisions you represented, is completely irrelevant

Willie Pep only ever fought in one division

but, here is the point you are missing.....

the guys who fought in multiple divisions had more opportunities to face elite/great fighters

Golovkin has a very average resume, fighting in a stagnant middleweight era..... and he did not move up - or make any type of concessions - to chase bigger/better fights.....

whichever way a fighter chooses to manage his career, the results will speak for themselves..... and results = resume

    names ONLY..... NO excuses

THAT is the whole story..... not just the bit that you thought reflected well on Golovkin
I don't "LOVE" Golovkin. If you notice, I only have him ranked #4 in my P4P rankings.

I loved Ward (before his retirement), Crawford, and Loma more.

What I don't do is resort to the ridiculous allegations that even the "Breadman" shoots down against Golovkin constantly from his haters.

They expect him to gain 50 pounds to fight Joshua, just like the Floyd haters expected him to move up to 160 to fight Golovkin at 40 years old.

That's the hallmark of idiots, just wanting guys to move up for the hell of it.

My stance with Golovkin is the same as my stance with Mayweather.

A champion is only obligated to fight the guys in his weight class, not move up, just to prove something. If a guy is naturally getting bigger like Mayweather in the past and guys like De La Hoya did, then fine, but if you're naturally a good fit at a weight class, I got no problem with staying there in any division.

If they choose to move up, great, but I don't hold Hagler & Monzon dominating at 160 for a decade against them because they didn't keep moving up.

I know you're used to idiots on here stanning for fighters, but I keep it consistent across the board. I don't stan anybody

When people compare fighters from different eras it's 100% opinion, grant it some opinions are a bit more educated than others. lol
That said, I agree with Pavlick that Golovkin rules over a pretty mediocre MW division. It's not GGG's fault but you can't give him credit for it either. It's similiar to Floyd dominating a weak WW division, not his fault but doesn't add to his legacy.

bro....you are going way overboard...nobody expected golovkin to go to HW to fight joshua....i know what you are trying to say but why be ridiculous?

all that anyone ever asked was that he go up 8lbs to fight andre ward, who was coming off a layoff......moving up that 8lbs was something golovkin tried to do twice and talked about many a times.....the problem was he couldnt cherrypick a fighter he thought he could beat easily.....he would have been facing an elite fighter who was the same size or bigger and he didnt like them odds..........stop being extreme and act like people asked golovkin to go to cruiser or even LHW...he fancied his odds against guys like froch and chavez....but not ward....golovkin talked that talk but didnt back it up when ward was back and able to fight....but he sure ran his mouth when ward was on the sidelines.....ward walked the walk that golovkin talked

            fcuk off, they do not

but I did expect Mr "anyone from 154-168" to be willing to drop a pound or two for little old faded 153lb Cotto

not quite the same is it

there are about 48 pounds between the wild story that you are telling us, and the even wilder story that Golovkin told us

look all I am saying is, Golovkin is not a kid..... nor is he some invalid, who needs to be protected

he is a grown man, and should therefore be held accountable for his words and actions

I see him as an under-achiever because of his words

and I think that you are being more than a little dishonest, and more than a little stan'ish..... for pretending all of that 154-168 stuff was an off-handed comment that was only made once..... rather than an obvious PR/marketing campaign than ran for FIVE YEARS

you gave him a 100% free pass for talking all that mad shht, and prefer to focus on his "obligations".....

well, I am not "obligated" to forget all of those hollow promises, and nothing that I said is incorrect or unfactual..... so writing me off as a hater is dodging the issue..... which is your failure to hold Golovkin accountable for his words/actions

you are giving him a free pass for a reason

I don't blame him for avoiding Andre Ward

but, he should have kept his big mouth shut about 168

and..... he should have been willing to drop a pound or two for little old faded 153lb Cotto

they ran with that " 154-168 " line for FIVE YEARS

here is Golovkin stating that he is willing and able to fight at 154, but nobody will fight him.....

the problem is, he said that immediately after refusing to negotiate on weight with Cotto and Canelo.....

making excuses for Golovkin is ridiculous quite frankly

So what do u make of ward calling out (chatting shht) bellew and joshua then retiring at 33?

Ward only used gggs name to raise his profile and it worked because u morons talked about ggg vs ward more than his actual fights

Today the middleweights are smaller framed guys blown up junior middles, five foot 9 to 10, walking around at 175 tops, back in pavliks day they were close to six foot and over and walked around well over 180s. Arthur abraham was the shortest but he was stocky with bigger bone structure than the guys today
Yeah I'm betting there was less drug testing in Pavlik's day too. That was right at the steroid apex for boxing I believe, before USADA or VADA ever did boxing matches for the most part. It was just the commission tests that were basically meaningless, so guys could do all sorts of stuff I imagine, including stuff to help with weight cutting, that is more difficult to get away with now (unless you are a protected house fighter, then it seems like you they will still let you do whatever you want and just overlook it).
