He's gifted with intelligence and wisdom.

The first revealed the weaknesses of his opponents.

The second led him to make the right business decisions.

And holy mother of jesus, Oscar made $58 mil for that fight? That had to have been the highest net income of a single fight before Floyd's run.

And that $58mil was his final take home pay, or before all the goodies included onto his check?

I will give Floyd credit. The son of a gun taught fighters to at least try and carve your own path, and don't just sell yourself to the Don King's, and Bob Arum's of the world.

At the end of the day, I'd rather the fighter take the lump sum of the total revenue earned, then some slimey ass, reptilian mother ****er like Don King.
      Final cut.
Yeah that $58 million was by far the biggest purse at that time. I remember reading that Oscar had Floyd over a barrel during negotiations. Oscar offered Floyd 30% and Floyd bit his arm off!!
Oscar was a smart mo-fo too. Left arum, set up his own promotional company and cleaned up.
Floyd just took it to the next level.

Here's where the game gets tricky. We don't have exact numbers only reported. And also Mayweathers deal is presumably structured like no other since he co-promotes his own events and doesn't have a mult contract deal with a promoter. Only showtime.

All indications from my research is that these numbers are before Promoted cut. Which is for Top Rank has been estimated at 40% or higher. And then the fools still have to pay taxes soooooo... and 10% for a manager

This is the reason people are deriding Haymon and Roc deals with the large garaunteeds. It's near impossible to pay these figures without big fights. Fighters need garaunteeds ussually because their deal is screwed up. If their deals weren't so screwed, signed to multiple people, futures, etc. they wouldn't demand garaunteeds to make sure they get paid.

It's really an endless cycle. Promoters taking smaller cuts and offering less garaunteeds is one solution to the problem.

Al Haymon. I dont like his PBC model but he is incredibly talented at marketing fighters and getting his fighters high paydays.

He was an elite-level boxer with loyal, business-minded people around him. His lover Leonard Ellerbe seems to keep him focused and helps make the right moves.

Yeah, I figured that wasn't his final payout. He is his own promotion, so he has to get some of the money from the gate, etc.

Even though $30 mil is a ton, he should be getting more than that, if his Mayweather promotions label is tied with the fight.

Because it was al haymon all along. Without haymon mayweather won't find the right connections.
