      Don't you get it ?

One belt means all of the best are going for it. There Will also be far less champions and better match ups as people wanted that one belt

With Floyd there was the god damn wba wbc wbo and ibf. Elite fighters had other belts already and Floyd was match picked to win in style too against softer guys
So the best were scattered around, no need for the best to fight each other and take as many losses

      The truth hurts huh Larry

Rocky was better, he fought better guys who were all competing for that one belt

Imagine prime Margo Mosley pacman cotto Williams and Floyd all going for one belt in their prime

Christ dude it would have been amazing but it would never happen these days hence floyds fake resume and the world
Champs beated rubbish is fake and holds no merit

      End
      Of story

Marciano's record of 49-0 was a record setting number for HEAVYWEIGHTS!

        Sugar Ray ran 80-0 TWICE!

It is an accomplishment for the division because as you've seen through the years that upset KO's can happen because the big boys can and do hurt each other.

The lack of basic boxing history knowledge is pretty sad around here.
We have threads asking if Benny Leonard and Marvin Hagler where that good? Really you don't know they were?

Marciano did simply bc his weight class was far harder not just bc its easier to get knocked out but Marciano HAD to fight whoever was there which made for more even match ups ,he didnt have the luxury of choosing several guys per year . Marciano didn't just fight in one place either .This is a no brainer IF you take what i just posted into consideration !

True. And the other thing people forget is that guys like Marciano and Sugar Ray Robinson were active!! They fought multiple times a year. Present day fighters don't compare to their schedules.

Mayweather>> Chavez quitting against Frankie Randall, Oscar Delahoya, padding his record with Tijuana cab drivers.

If there was one belt in floyds time, he wouldn't have been a champion until later in his career and barely would have fought any champions.
It's fair to say Floyd would never ever have become ww Champ if there was one belt. Would he have fought guys in their prime to win it? History tells us hell no. He ducked fights to ensure they were sliding

These days a decent fighter can become a Champ with match making and floyds resume is proof of that

Floyd is 2nd beat compared to the man
Makes no sense because Floyd was Lineal Champion at every weight class he fought in except 140.

Floyd no doubt, look at how mant champs and former champs he beat. It was also a different time when rocky fought fighters werent as good.

If you are going to talk about how often fighters from one era fought (yes, I think it IS an argument), then you are going to also have to talk about how long a fighter stayed significant.

In other words, you have to weigh dominating and being champion for 4 years vs almost 2 decades.

You have to weigh the quality of opposition as well as the frequency of it also.
