I agree 100%. neither eye was closed and he could see well enough. He just wanted Spence to quit hitting him so he quit. Of course if he had not quit Spence would still have won by KO in a few seconds anyway but Brook would have gone out like more of a warrior and less of a quitter.

Yeah as usual we have people already trying to twist things here. That eye was not close, it was puffy at the bottom but the top was fine, he could see clearly... Berto had both eyes shut and he was still fighting.

Brook just couldn't take anymore pressure from the body work, am not going to take that eye as a reason or excuse. He got dismantled to the body period.

This was all being said before the fight. Brook may have felt confident but theres no evidence of people stepping up 2 divisions from a weight they were drained and come back down to be succesful it dont happen.

I was wondering the same thing. Especially after the fight when his eye wasn't even swollen. His corner knew he was spent and the tape job on the glove was in purpose. Spence was relentless and broke Brook, doesn't matter if he had a hurt eye or not, he was beaten into submission.

... The fact is that Brook doesn't mention his eye injury this morning anymore...
