Looks like he just took a beating, and by the 11th his body could take no more.
Sadly it should have been his corner who should have been monitoring him more closely and after the 10th should have thought about throwing in the towel then.

As far as the eye, if indeed it was the eye, those fractures are dangerous and can make any man quit. Look no further than the 9th round between Angulo and Lara.

I don't think its a definite he was getting stopped doe. I think if he'd been able to mentally push forward through the injury, concern of the injury & probably doubt he may very well have lasted to a decision. But he wasn't so he didn't.

I suspect when push came to shove in that fight Brook was thinking about some very real consequences with these sorta injuries & what he's just been through which probably made him quit in a more submissive way then one woulda expected of him in this fight going in.

I think the Bellew talk was a lil rough for some casual fans & probably even some hardcore fans, but it does tend to hold true. You gotta be ready to die in the ring or at very least be more willing to give & take more than your opponent & that was the main battle Brook lost last night.

Respect still to both guys doe, I thought Brook did very well early & I thought Spence came on great late & with Brook's real life looking a whole lot better then its probably ever looked with all these big fight paydays coming in lately it sorta goes with the territory that one loses a bit of the dog in you when you got the nice car, the nice house, the sexy wife/gf (the downlow brother in Brook's case, I kid I kid you p#ssies), the kids, the satin sheets & PJ's, the bank account with more digits then a man with an extra hand & all that sh^t going your way. It takes a special fighter to have all that & train & fight like your broke & ultimately Brook wasn't THAT special I think its safe to say.

Randomly the most hilarious thing in this is how pissed off Hearn is. Dude is trying so hard to be his jovial & go lightly type self public persona he gots going on that he's been as of late with so many things going his way, but dude has went in hard on Allen & Brook in a couple of the vids I've seen post-fight. And he seemed like he was ready to Leon Lawson a random mfer at that Spence post-fight presser.

Only the fighter knows how bad the injury is, or how it feels.
        ... but WAIT!...

... Didn't Lucas quit as well in that fight?

After the 9th round he really was just trying to hold on and that takes a lot of energy. He just couldn't hold him off anymore, he was done.

I can't see why posters don't understand that in this situation taking a knee and quitting was the much better option than taking anymore flush shots to the eye or body. By going out this way he at least saves himself so he can do the khan fight and make one more big payday. If he wins that he may get another one.

IMO he made what Deion sanders calls a business decision.

                  LMAO

Brook taking a knee: "If it's somebody else's business to handle to Spence, it's somebody else's business."

                  And he was out

He was blinking intentionally because he wanted a way out, he was getting destroyed to the body and he was going to get laid out. He didn't want that in front of his own fans, so he kinda quit... I don't like to question boxers heart but a lot of boxers would rather have gone out on their backs, than quit the way he did. When you look at his resume and see the fights he has had you can tell he wouldn't dig deeper if he face any sort of adversity.
Y'all think so? To me, it looked like the ref stopped it, although KB wanted to continue. I could be wrong though.

Nah Brook forced the stoppage, he didn't want to continue and got counted out... he took a knee for what reason? He tried to disguise it but he quit period!!! Now am I blaming him for quitting? Nope but when you claim you are the man without proving it then you claim you were leading on the scorecards in your head, why did you quit with a round and a half to go?

My problem with Brook is that he never proved himself, he is like a lot of British fighters who rack up 30 odd wins, whilst sitting at home fighting bum and then calling themselves the man, just because we support our boxers passionately doesn't mean they are the best.

They still need to go out there and prove it, Brook at 147 had his first real adversity but he didn't react like other real warriors would in that ring. He was the more seasoned pro, home advantage, champion etc

Am not going to give him a break at all. He followed the path of least resistance from the beginning, he never challenged himself in 13 years at that weight.

Thurman in the last 4 years has fought Guerrero, Chaves, Garcia, Porter, collazo etc, and Brook? Porter and now Spence.
