Did Delahoya Take A Dive Against Hopkins ?

From what I viewed the punch wasn't a perfectly placed liver punch to begin with. It looked like it landed more on his side and back area. I also think that the reason why we as viewers watching the fight were lead to believe that DLH was holding his own was because Hopkins was carrying him up until that fateful round. I cant remember the round but I think it was the 8th or 9th. Just my opinion though.

Exactly. Hopkins carried De La Hoya, the bout was even so neither guy looks much better, and it looks like Hopkins won with a perfect shot, the only kind that could have kept De La Hoya down...it's all a bunch of bull**** and if you fell for it...you a sucka

Besides the obvious, I had a guy who was involved with the promotion of the fight and a well known boxing pundit even tell me that his organization tell me that the fight had alot of shadiness that he witnessed with his own eyes. Last week I said I had some crazy info that would rock the boxing world, but it wouldnt be in my best interest to be putting it out there like that. This is one of the pieces of info that my source divulged. I'm still putting alot of the pieces together on the info I heard, I'll probably wind up finding out alot of **** about this fight.

For one, the punch was not that powerful to have had HURT DLH that way.

Secondly that punch didn't hit that area of DLH's body directly, the punch glanced part of his arm.

Hopkins shot wasnt clean enough or leveraged well enough. He decided to stay down and pound the canvas. Im not saying that it was fixed but i think he elected not to risk anymore once he found a way out.

I think there's a difference between taking a dive and just not getting up from a shot. I could be wrong but it seems to me like people are using both like they are interchangeable. Taking a dive means he didn't get up because he wanted to throw the fight and not getting up means he didn't get up because of the pain/didn't think he could win etc.

That being said I remember seeing something about the fight and they had a clip of Teddy Atlas saying if DLH would have been reacting like he did from a liver shot and his response was "I don't know." I was pretty disapointed because I would hope Atlas would know.

I have seen guys BLASTED with shots that shift their entire torso from one side to another, & they go down.....without anything approaching the reaction Oscar had to that ARM PUNCH that bounced off of him.

It was Oscar's ridiculous reaction to the punch that makes me believe it was an act.

The fight wasn't fixed. Oscar gave a good enough account, leading up to the finish, to feel comfortable enough to BAIL.

Truthfully....it's one of the weakest & worst-looking KO's I have ever seen.

Bull****! I dont think he did. Ive been winded by the same shot a couple of times. It was a class shot from Hopkins and I believe DLH was winded!
