I think it's a solid chance neither fight happens this year. If they don't, a Jacobs rematch is pretty much a must this year, right?
It depends. If neither Canelo or Saunders fight GGG this year then I think a rematch with Jacobs should happen. But it would also depend upon who GGG gets into the ring instead.

I'm a big GGG fan and agree with your logic. The OG wants to unify and also fight Canelo and there's nothing wrong with either bout. If both fall through, Danny is the other good fight for him in the division.

      • Is this writer a casual? Saunders only beat Lee? So he never beat the 168 IBO champion with speed and power advantages over him, Chris Eubank Jr.? The guy GGG haters were saying GGG was ducking, just like they said he was ducking Jacobs? But instead GGG offered to fight both and showed those haters how dumb they are?

Well guess what, GGG beat one of them, and Saunders beat the other. So let's see the two true champs who defeated the two boogeymen, Jacobs and Eubank Jr respectively, fight each other, GGG vs Saunders, June in Khazakstan.

Honestly you haters are crazy. GGG started the year fighting the second best guy in his division. In the summer, he plans to unify the titles. THAT is his tune-up fight! Against a champion! Who else is doing that as their homecoming tune-up fight? And then in September, GGG fights another elite fighter, Canelo.

So in the span of one year, GGG's plan is to fight two A-level fighters, and one B+ fighter. Who else is doing that??? All these other guys, you're lucky if you get one B+ opponent all year. And if they do fight an A-level guy, you know damn well all their other fights that year will be against bums.

Not GGG though. So stop hating. Jacobs, Saunders, and Canelo all in one year is an amazing year. And GGG might even give Jacobs the rematch in December or January! Either way, it's a near guaranteed fighter of the year schedule if GGG beats Saunders and Canelo. So stop hating!

For this fight, Jacobs was a mandatory, and the fight still took a long time to make, so I don't think it's realistic that the fight could get made for a June date. For September, if the canelo fight can't get made, then yes, I think that is the fight that should most def be next on the list

I rooted for Jacobs to win. I even thought he won, but then changed it after rewatching the fight. So I have ZERO problem with rematches in close fights, but not necessarily craving for them.

Real question, which you keep ignoring, is does Jacobs even want an immediate rematch? You could easily tell by the way they behave and things they say after the fight. Jacobs vs GGG 2 will even take more time to make than Saunders and Canelo combined.

              • First, I agree to a point that Canelo is NOT THE PRIZE at middleweight, in reality, $$$$$ talks. Canelo is the biggest fish perhaps in all of boxing when it comes to $$$.

Asking GGG to forget $$$Canelo$$$ and chase "glory" is ******

The article makes a point about taking small fights, but I would push back w/ GGG's activity

True, fighting a Wade and even BJS doesn't really mean much, but its not like its preventing bigger fights.

Team GGG wants 2017 to be: Jacobs in March, BJS in June, Canelo in Sept.

How are you gonna complain about a BJS fight, when Team GGG fights the top 2 opponents at MW in one year?

Yes, I would rather see a Jacobs rematch than Canelo. (Jacobs >>> Canelo at MW, IMO), but asking GGG to forgo that $$$ is ******.

Best case scenario, BJS in June, Canelo in Sept., Jacobs II in early 2018, then up to 168, unless he loses.

The only thing I disagree with is that Saunders is a bigger fight than or take priority over Jacobs. But I can't tell y'all or GGG how to think. So if that's a big fight in halls minds, so he it. We can just agree to disagree.

Jacobs was like 5-7lbs bigger than lil G. He weighed in at 176 w/ HBO after lil G weighed in at 170 IN THE MORNING. So lil G added a couple more pounds by fight time. They were the same size...please stop whining.

The g-tards didn't cry when Lil G drug up WWs to fight at 160? So please don't cry about weight since lil g can't meet Ward at 168 (after calling him out) and can't meet Canelo at 154 (after calling him out). At a certain point lil g will actually have to fight a GOOD fighter and win. He lost to Jacobs on my card but Jacobs is B level.

Maybe lil g will sign a contract eventually and after he loses you pacFUC.KS will say he was old. It honestly cracks me up lol
Did HBO officially announce his weight or are you taking Jacobs and his team's word for it?

Lmao wrong again Shaniqua. Listen up girlfriend and listen real good...

Jacobs' strength & conditioning coach said he weighed 176lbs at 8am the day of the fight. Therefore, he had over 12 hours before fight time to drink fluids, eat 3 meals etc. So in reality, like most media reported, he probably entered the ring around 185lbs. That's why he refused to be weighed by HBO scales the night of the fight (just like he refused to be weighed by the IBF because he's a CHEAT).

Meanwhile, Golovkin was weighed at 170lbs the NIGHT of the fight by HBO scales. Therefore, Jacobs carried at least 15lbs+ weight advantage by fight time. Those are the cold hard facts. Why can't you get that through your badly braided skull girlfriend?

As for Kell Brook, even his promoter/trainer don't want him fighting at 147lbs anymore as he's too big for a welterweight. They said he should already be fighting at 154lbs so in reality he moved up one weight division to fight GGG. Also, come fight night, he was around the same size as GGG as GGG is a small middleweight. As for coWARD, he hasn't weighed less than 170lbs in his last few fights and moved up to light heavyweight as he obviously cannot make super middleweight anymore. Same goes for golden duck Canela who handed her belt over to GGG on a silver platter instead of fighting at 160lbs but is now fighting Chavez at 165lbs under a year later lmao.

At the end of the day Fraud Maynever is a coward who cheated, ducked and paid off judges to maintain an unbeaten record.

He forced Canelo to fight at a catch weight so he could weaken him and he fought him when he was green and hadn't fought anybody.

He forced Marquez to climb 2 weight divisions to slow him down and then deliberately came in heavy on the scales to give himself an advantage.

He ducked Mosley in his prime and only fought him when he was touching 40 and already had 5 losses on his resume. Even then, grandpa Mosley still made Fraud do the chicken dance twice lmao.

He ducked a prime Cotto and only fought him when he was past his best and had already been stopped twice by Margarito and Pacquiao.

He ducked a prime Pacquiao for years when he was knocking out champions and only fought him after he was old and had lost his killer instinct and had been brutally KO'd by Marquez.

We also can't forget how Fraud cheated and sucker punched Ortiz like a ***** when he was just trying to apologise lol.

Fraud also clearly lost to Castillo and has touched the canvas numerous times in his career. Your hero is a complete joke. TBE = The Best Excuses!
